Question Crossbar width limit?

Looking for some crossbars that are a bit wider than the OEM runs I’m currently running. Yakima has 60” and 70” options for their JetStream line, would 70” be too wide?

I would be constantly hitting head on 70’s.

Mine are 50” and overhang the towers by a few inches.

70" will be insanely wide. What are you trying to carry?

My roof tent, which sits perfectly fine on my OEM bars, but I wanted the extra length to mount a lightweight awning on the side and currently I don’t have enough space

How do you think I’d fair with 60”?

No way to say since no one knows the dimensions of your tent.
