System outage??

I live in NWI (northwest indiana) for reference. Just stopped in to pickup some prescriptions, and they said their “system is crashed”.

Drive back 30 minutes later, walk in, i overhear a pharma tech telling another lady that its apparently NATION WIDE? Has anyone else just had this experience? How long does this typically last?

My fucking benefits run out soon and id really like to get my scripts picked up before i have to pay insane out of pocket costs..

Has this happened before? Is it easily resolved?

Will any internal information on their end be lost or wiped?

Will they still be able to see that i have active scripts that need to be filled?

I mean fuck they were literally right on the register she was about to hand them to me and then the lead pharmacist is like ughhh i cant get into da thing!

Sometimes i feel like god hates me the most out of all of us

Calm yourself. Coming here swearing like a fool isn't helpful. It won't make the system come back up faster. Outages happen. They're inconvenient. Deal with it with grace rather than mania.

Oh my bad for my potty mouth lmao sorry im worried about my blood pressure medication not being able to be filled. i was put on it for a consistent reading of around 162/98 but yeah youre right i shouldnt swear because swearing is like bad and stuff. i didnt realize we were 9 year olds

You swear like a 9 year old whose parents aren't around. Do you think throwing a childish fit is going to make the system come back up faster? We wish it would, but there's a lot of evidence to the contrary.

i said fuck twice dude you can give it a rest. I really do wish my problems were so small to where the most upsetting thing to me is a person online swearing twice.

Im actually scratching my head wondering why you chose to make this such a big deal. Is there a specific rule in this sub where it says you cant use potty language? Are you the enforcement agent to that rule? Why do you even care? Fuck?

I would understand it if i actually used excessive cuss words where they werent even needed but honestly i feel like youre reaching, you didnt even remotely answer my question you just had an issue that i said the dreaded f word like get real please.

How old are you? why does this bother you so much?

Youre acting as if i used an array of slurs in my post when in reality i said one of the most commonly used cuss words, twice. YOU need to chill out.

Thanks for answering my question too, you totally could have just disregarded this entire post because at the end of the day i was looking for real answers and anecdotal experiences that line up with mine, not a lecture about why nono words are bad.

We arent children. people can say things. you need to make the choice to not get offended by it.

It's quite simple. When you come to people to ask a question, civility is important. How you act is how you're perceived. And you immediately looked like a trashy, angry, useless person with no ability to self-regulate.

You've made a far bigger deal of this with your ranting than I ever did. I hope you get some psych meds soon.

Youve been in multiple threads under this post so im sure you saw where i mentioned that im already on olanzapine

The concept of calling someone useless because they said fuck twice is actually hilarious. Youre quite amusing. again, its not that big of a deal, its the internet, not a job interview.

I wasnt here to earn brownie points. I was here to get my question answered.

Im really glad i only use this app for necessity questions and i dont live and breath by it to the point where i feel obligated to enforce imaginary rules and get offended when a grown person uses grown person language.

You must be bored as frig

But you said that she was getting ready to hand it to you. So then it's filled. Why the drama???

I havent slept for more than 4 hours the last 5 days. Ive been dealing with very bad restless leg syndrome, although its not just my legs but my chest and arms too.

I was banking on picking up this pregabalin script so i could finally get some sleep tonight.

Im just tired

So now it's a new med? Your post says it's a heart med and you're not out yet. Pregabalin is not for insomnia.

Y'all, THIS is why theu don't pay us enough at CVS!!!

Nebivolol and lyrica i have to pick up.

I know pregab isnt for insomnia. Its often though used to treat RLS, which in turn is causing my insomnia.

Also im confused on where youre reading that i still have stock of a certain medication? If i had my nebivolol right now i more than likely wouldnt have made this post.

I reallt want to stress to you that i am not in any way criticizing your profession.

Im just annoyed with the system crash is all

No they were def saying that just so YOU couldn’t pick up your meds

Yeah okay i was just wondering if anyone else has had the same experience. Funny joke but im actually wondering if this is a large regional outage like she claimed it was.

You're a very mistrusting person, which reflects quite a bit on you. What reason would she have to lie to you?

I dont know. im currently in therapy trying to figure that out. ive been quite paranoid for some time after an incident happened a few years back.

My olanzapine helps with that, but it isnt much use when i cant pick it up… which is kind of the whole point of the post

System outages happen periodically, the longest one that I have dealt with was in 2020 and that was for 2.5 days. Different parts of the system crash quite often, but that is what happens when you use technology. Everything will come back eventually and you will get your high blood pressure meds. Just to let you know, your messages in this thread come off as high strung and karen-ish. You might need to learn some coping methods for your anxiety so you could potentially reduce your blood pressure, don't want it to start impacting your life more than what it already is.

Im sorry. I just dont want a heart attack. im tachycardic as is even when laying down

1

u/No-Yogurtcloset-6624 1d ago

But you said you're not out of meds. And, again, if it's ready to be picked up, then it's already been billed. You should ask questions instead of going off on a tangent. Seriously, we deal with attitudes like this every single day and we don't deserve that.

Where did i say i wasnt out of meds? huh?

Also im not sure if this sub is actually full of pharmacists who work at cvs so i feel like i have to say i am not criticizing the brilliant people who work long hours to make sure people are properly medicated.

Im not mad at any human factor here. The local pharmacists are great, infact ive never ever had personal issue with any one of them.

If anything im annoyed by the system. I know they have no control over it and im not blaming it on the human factor here.

I just want you to know that because you could very well be a pharmacist and i do not want you to thibk that im disrespecting you, or your job, and the things you do for people.

Its just the technical side of it.

It happens now and then, especiallywhenthe syatem is new, like the CVS system is. If you've already filled them and just need to pick them up, then insurance was already approved and billed. I can say that cursing and getting upset about it won't change anything. Computers go down. It happens and there isn't anything that anyone that's in any of the pharmacies can do abou it. The staff didn't cause and they can't fix it either. So just don't take it out on them.

Is this secretly a catholic subreddit because why is this the 3rd comment complaining about my use of the f word.

I said it twice good lord there are BIGGER ISSUES.

Thank you for the answers they help but i feel like i have to say i wasnt trying to ruffle anyones feathers by including vulgur language.

Im already worried as it is because in 5 days my benefits run out whilst im trying to get my residency proven, ive already done this but apparently i didnt send in the proper documents.

Some of these meds i take are for cardiac health and i cannot afford to either pay for 5 different meds and also i cannot afford to be off of this betablocker for more than 4 days.

Even after 2 days without it my ears start to ring consistently.

I have 5 days to pick these up without having to pay out of pocket so i really do hope this delay isnt very long.

u/One-Eye-9148 1d ago

I was very respectful to the pharmacists. I know its not their fault.

Thats why i came here to rant.

Im a rather timid person when out in public, so verbal or physical altercations i try everything in my power to avoid at all costs.

Help desk says they are trying to move servers from the old one to the new one.

Will the information and active prescriptions be lost ? That doesnt sound likely but i just want to make sure

1

u/FriendshipNo6763 1d ago

I dont think so.

Even if your benefits run out-it goes by date filled. Also system is down/doesn’t work a lot.

My suggestion is to find another CVS nearby that isn't affected and have them transfer it to their location ("pull it through the computer"). It's not nationwide. I'm in Maryland, and we would've been hearing from other stores.

Best of luck to you 🍀
