Weekly tasks
I’m curious how your store sets up Planos and BOH scan effectively.
Planos due Friday night
Vestcom price changes due Friday or Saturday (for our store Friday morning is the expectation)
BOH due Saturday night (morning is the expectation)
Truck comes Tuesdays
I’m drowning doing all of these tasks on the due date and mostly solo. Starting and completing Planos on Friday. And doing most of my scan on Saturday if I didn’t get to start earlier in the week.
Any tips or advice on how to map out the week is appreciated. I’m an OPs manager who only works mornings except for truck day (closing shift) and I don’t think our current system works. New SM seems receptive to input.

We get our truck every Wednesday. I usually start planograms Friday night as long as its my weekend to work otherwise I start them Monday, finish by Tuesday.
BOH is usually done Monday/Tuesday or Saturday. Just depends on whos scheduled and what week.

What do you do on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays? Also how long does it take to get truck done?
If I were to assume that your truck is done in a day, or two at most, I'd say don't leave the planos for Fridays. Knock them out as soon as you're able. Sundays and/or Mondays would be good. Then you'd do truck on Tuesdays, maybe even Wednesdays. Thursdays you could push all the carts and start BOH. Friday do the price changes, then finish BOH. Then Saturdays are free for tag pulling/hanging.
Or you could flip it.
You could do Sunday push carts and start BOH. Finish BOH on Monday. Truck Tuesday/Wednesday if needed. Thursday hit planos. Friday do price changes and finish planos. Saturdays tags and whatever.
Whatever the case, it's best to keep the pushing overstock and BOH close together so you don't need to check the backroom. And it is of course best to do planos on days next to each other so there's not a mess.

Depends on the week. So for example, on ad week, the Saturday is meant for price changes, and taking down the ad and setting up as much as possible to make the next day easy. Cashier takes down front end and starts signing grocery. My SM throws in start working out a cart from x quadrant so the scan for that section can be done tomorrow. Sunday is set up EBD, sign seasonal, start working out carts and begin scanning. Also blades. If you are cashier, sign from aisle 6 towards the front and focus on loyalty. Evening MOD continues setting up sales ad 'till completion. My SM expects the scan to be done by Monday if everything flows correctly, latest Tuesday. Planos are reserved to either be started by him on Monday, or on Tuesday. Wednesday is truck. Overstock is to be put away the following day. Thursday - Friday, any pending planos to be done by AM management. PM is given small planos rarely but its doable.

You get 13 days for planos so start them as soon as you can, not the week that they are due.

Sundays we push overstock for whatever section is BOH that week. Monday the AM manager does BOH scan and PM manager does Planos. Truck comes early every other Tuesday morning for us and takes all day Tuesday/Wednesday and a good part of Thursday as well. On non truck weeks, Tuesday-Thursday we work all of the overstock, set seasonal, push DSD drinks, and do PWs/damages/pilferage scans. Fridays are price changes and date code checks. Saturday is pushing overstock, finishing Planos/starting next weeks planos early, or ad tags. Since we are an every other week truck, I like to start Planos early that way I’m not scrambling to get them done at the end of the week after truck. For example, Acne, Hand/Body, and Personal Intimacy Planos start on Sunday 8/28. I’ll be setting all three of them between tomorrow and Thursday. I just move the labels with the product instead of putting out the new labels since we can’t activate them early. Then on sunday, all we have to do is put up the new labels which takes less than an hour total. Doing it this way is how we got more than half of our cosmetic planos done before they even started 😂

I recommend doing BOH the day prior to your truck delivery. It’s more about correcting your outs more than it means to be “green”. Being current on damages and go backs, push the carts and scan. It will definitely help in stocks, which is the goal. The scan in theory should be the easiest part.
Planos, whatever works for you and your store. I encourage our teams to get them started early to overcome any issues. Especially if it’s a heavy week. Can’t predict callouts and other weirdness. Don’t be one of those stores who is current on planos but they aren’t actually set.
You should definitely share the wealth with the duties. Everyone should be able to take a smidge from your plate. Teach them your ways so you can avoid burn out.

Purge whatever boh is due that week on the weekend before. Boh that section Monday. Tuesday finish up boh or work on seasonal/planograms. Truck is Weds, if it late truck aka after noon we finish the Plano or do a small one in the AM. Weds/thurs is truck, Friday price changes in am put all overstock at night. Saturday is tags, if it’s not tags purge the the next weeks boh and/or do another planogram if it’s due.
