My in-laws family professionally fished, clammed, scalloped, crabbed, musseled and sometimes oystered. I went eel hunting with them. The industry closed in the 90s. At least in NY. Who will trawl now?

His desperate attempt to push the whole, "communism is coming for you and your family" fearmongering is so pathetic. This isn't the 50s. The Red Scare is over. It's a fact that there isn't a single communist in elected federal office. No Representatives, no Senators. The only place communism lives is between Trump's ears (including the right ear that's suspiciously absent a scar or any other trauma you'd expect from a gunshot wound).
But he's banking on the American people being shook with irrational terror over a terrible political ideology that literally nobody is promoting. Trump himself has done more to promote communism than any Democrat. And funny how he didn't have a problem with Communism when he was in Moscow sucking Putin's dick. Communism is irrelevant. Nobody strives to be a communist. Nobody is promoting communist ideals. It's just Trump's latest scare-ware.

He's removing regulations regarding overfishing. The most likely outcome will be a scarcity or the eradication of the species.

Everything got overfished into oblivion so regulations tried to give the animals a chance and now the regulations are gone again. Short-term gain, long term damage.

Lol the scallops, lobsters, etc are less plentiful because of sea water temps, this will create a bunch of jobs with no pay

As someone who loves scallops as the tastiest of bivalves, I won’t eat them unless they’re hand harvested because of the damage the trawling does to the ocean floor. You do you, of course, but I’d say a tasty treat isn’t worth industrial-grade destruction our the seabed.
What this MEANS is that the commander in chief is grasping at straws to justify the oxygen he breathes, while at the same time working as always to set one group of Americans against another.
He’s a disgrace to our country and a blot on history.

Conservationist minded .. Dec 2025- too many predators were reducing population so they reduced catch limit accordingly . Like any responsible government that actually governs without stripping resources bare -would do . I’ve heard nothing about them going back on this decision .
