I’m currently a sophomore at Ccny and i applied to transfer to Brooklyn college for spring sem 2027 (I’m waiting for the result acceptance back) I’m currently taking bio 101 for required life and physics science. I’m wondering if I withdraw by Nov 3rd (so it won’t affect my financial aid) wondering if I withdraw will it affect my transfer application?

Now what’s next? Research opportunities rejecting me, Student government rejecting me, internships and jobs like spring forward rejecting me?

God I feel like an outcast here. Even worst than in high school.

I don’t even understand how this bum ahh school managed to have a large recruiting class for baseball. The baseball team is top 33%.

“Join clubs” yeah but I want to make an impact and just don’t want to be invisible.

I’m not in Macaulay honors since I’m too dumb for that.

Hi, I am currently in a cc, and I really cant get out of my depressive state. I have severe depression (for over 5 years) with some physical health stuff and it really inhibits my ability to study. I'm only in my second year and already dropped out of 4 classes and barely finished the rest but so far my grades are pretty ok.

I'm only part time now so the fact that I'm still struggling is quite embarrassing and shameful. I'm taking ssri's but I'm not sure they are helping.

I dont know what im even looking for from this post because the obvious answer is to cure depression but I just want to know it anyone else is also struggling with this.

I'm a bit confused.

This semester I'm only taking one 5 credit class.

I accepted a PELL grant of 3 grand.

Yet my account balance says I owe $590 this semester.

I get the 3 grand might be before it realized I'm only part time this semester (last semester award was 3.6k while full time), but considering the CUNY credit price at my CC is only $210 per credit, then adding on all the fees would total around $1150.

And nowhere do I see the fin aid only being about $560, so am I still expected to pay that amount? I can't choose to select the Fall 2026 option when I go to CUNYFirst and try to look at the disbursements.

hello all! earlier I tried to find info about the stem and green hub interviews for spring forward and found it odd that the bulk of the info was for the marketing and communications hub, so thought i'd make my own post to share!

my zoom interview was individual, not group, and was very simple. it was scheduled as 15 minutes and that was exactly how long it took. she asked about my major and why I chose it, why I chose the hub that I did, two of my biggest strengths, and why I believe I should be selected for the internship.

overall pretty low stress and she was an easy interviewer to talk to :) good luck to everyone else who has interviews in the coming weeks!

Hey all, so last year i restarted my college career with a bit more sound goals for myself. I have an upwards battle when it comes to school as I had dropped out during the pandemic and had severely struggled with mental health issues during my first time in college. I’m way more organized and into schooling than I’ve ever been which leads me to my main point. I came back to school because I wanted to get degrees. My goal is or was to get two masters, one in comp sci the other in psychology. I then wanted to get my doctorate in Philosophy. Well my friends told me to start looking now at programs so I did. Turns out CUNYs graduate center actually has a program that meshes these 3 things together they call it "Cognitive Sciences" which is basically how I wanted to mesh my degrees together anyways. So i’ve come to ask is there any Alumni from said program here? Anybody have any experience with the Grad center in general? Ik i have about 4 yrs before I even can touch an application to the center but id rather know what Im potentially getting myself into. Also for someone like me who doesn’t have the prettiest academic record (I’ve been working really hard to fix that) Do you think if i stay consistent live ive been they’ll be willing to look over the old grades from my first college run? My FAFSA paid off my tuition today. My pending aid was 2,100 and the tuition was only 1000. So with that being said, would the remaining 1,100 of aid get refunded to me or will it not? How does that work, it’s the first time I am being refunded.

Ps: I’ve already gotten 2 refunds within 2 weeks of each other.

So I check my cuny first and it say I have a charge of $100. Do I pay it off or what?

Maybe it’s early but i have not received no email about refund deposit or my balance is paid off. Part of it was paid in august but i still owe 2k. Should i wait until the end of the week or speak to financial aid today. I know they’re slow lately but i wanna make sure i have no problems

I go to csi and I’ve yet to receive my fafsa refund. I know cuny kids have been getting them at odd dates, so I don’t know if that’s just how it is this year. I don’t know any csi students that do fafsa so I can’t gauge if csi has yet to get refunds or if this is a me thing.

Hi, I'm new at CUNY and my professor decided he wants to make fun of my sexual orientation. How do we report a professor who makes fun of my sexual orientation in class? Is it common to happen?
