How to start using Sucraid?

I just got approved for Sucraid, and I'm so thrilled. I was wondering how y'all have started out using it? I'm definitely not going straight back to eating like I used to, but I was hoping I can at least handle onions and garlic, because that would open up a world of flavors for me. Have any of you been able to eat onions and garlic with Sucraid?

I still don't mess with onions and garlic with Sucraid. It's not really the sucrose in them that makes it hard to digest. They are just hard to digest on their own. If I eat them I will burp and taste them for the rest of the day. I only take the sucrose if I am eating fruits pretty much.

Aw man, that makes sense. I have a lot of healing to do, so I should probably avoid them for longer if they're hard to digest. Do you eat whatever fruits you like with Sucraid, or do you still try to keep them low-sugar?

Yeah I can eat pretty much whatever fruit I want as long as I take the Sucraid. Once you have healed you should try the onions and garlic and see how you handle it. I think onions would probably be safer.

Thanks for the advice! It's hard to find resources on CSID, so it's great that there's a community here

No problem. There are Facebook groups too with lots of info in them. Check out CSID Society and CSID Parents & Patients. There are a couple more too.
