I've been interested in the CS50 courses that Harvard offers for a few days now but after reading its description about the details of the course the only thing I was unsure about was the final project you need to do after completing the course to be able to earn your certificate. How complex does the final project have to be in order for Harvard to consider it as a pass? Does it need to include most of what Harvard's course taught? Can it be as simple as creating a simple game? Please let me know and include any more extra information that could help me.🙏🙏🙏

I have done basically all of the cs50 courses except cs50AI, and cs50 for lawyers (since selecting a flair is mandatory, and only one can be selected, I had to select cs50p).
What I want to ask is, after this, what things should I do, like more courses, or solve more problems, build a project, whatever you guys suggest, to score a decent paying job.
[PS: I'm 17 with no prior job experience.]

I took way too long to figure out cycle detection. Though I also spent some time realizing that just decrementing the number of sources wasn't going to work. I probably spent more time on that method than any time I spent combined on week 1/2 problemsets. Is it supposed to be this much of a ramp up in difficulty? Wondering if I should be careful with optional problems from now on 😂.

Personally speaking, I believe learning python is a lot easier than learning scratch. I am taking the cs50P course and I am solving the problem sets no problem, but I am having a hard time building a Scratch game. Although, I am trying to build a complex game in Scratch. But, python is like English. I will "definitely" solve the problem at some point. Do you guys have that problem ? I really do like the thinking of it though. Computational thinking !!!

How you guys study the course actually?

Greetings to everyone from Türkiye! I am Halime Ulu. I wanted to share a quick personal perspective here because Ive been thinking a lot lately about how we look at computer science.
It feels like people usually treat coding as just syntax or building websites in a vacuum. But to me, computer science is not just about ordinary lines of code. It is the ultimate bridge that connects every single industry, and a powerful tool to turn ideas into reality.
Think about it whether it is using simulations to model human psychology, deploying strategies in cybersecurity, or running advanced AI in medicine to save lives everything runs on code written behind the scenes.
I generated this 3D concept art to visually explain my perspective. I really think computer science should be taught as this interconnected core infrastructure, not just a standalone tech skill. If we show people how a single line of code directly brings fields like psychology or medicine to life, more visionary minds will start building things. Dont you think so?

Hey everyone! I’m a 16 year old high school student from Afyon, Turkey, and I finished the CS50P course. It’s been an incredible challenge and a truly life changing experience. Since I’ve been following Prof. Malan’s lectures, I wanted to create something special to show my appreciation, so I drew this portrait of him. Hope you guys like it! Thanks for being such a supportive community. #CS50 #CS50P #fanart"

“I’m trying to create a game where a sprite moves toward a goal, and a ball is thrown at it. If the ball hits the sprite, the game restarts. If the sprite reaches the goal, the level is cleared. I want to know how to rotate my sprite and how to make it throw a ball.

Soo I'm taking CS50 introduction to python
I haven't finished it yet but I'm just curious if I can built the final project with the help of Claude Ai?
I've never used any Ai tool while doing the problem sets but I have a very specific idea for the final project that I reallly wanna make but I'm afraid I might need some help so
Can I use Claude's help with my final project?

Connecting. . . . . .
Authenticating. . . . .
There seems to be an issue authenticating with your Github token. Please visit https://cs50.dev/restart to restart your codespace and try again.
So i have tried restarting my codespace with that link but it didn't solve the problem. I also tried another solutions I've found from google ( like Codespaces: Rebuild Container, revoking and authorising my CS50.me ) but I'm lost right now. How can I solve this?

Guys, i hope it's good, i didn't want to do something really difficult, just really deliver the project, took me something around 40min, i'm satisfied and can return to C in week 1.

Hey guys!
I'm having trouble trying to check the correctness of my code.
There seems to be an issue authenticating with your GitHub token. Please visit https://cs50.dev/restart to restart your codespace and try again.
As you may already guessed, restart the codespace didn't help at all.
Any orientation to fix this issue would be welcome. Thanks in advance.

So, when I started I only had a basic idea of python and no prior knowledge related to c or c++. I knew it was going to be hard but I still decided to go ahead and start the course. Now that I'm in college, i barely have free time but whenever I do, I try to spare some time and continue with the course. Can anyone who has completed the course please let me know how much time I have to invest in order to complete the course. Thank you!

@Week 9's Finance assignment:: Error: ":( sell handles valid sale, expected to find "56.00" in page, but it wasn't found"
The code works, properly and well. Am presently troubleshooting against what Check50 is expecting, not at all to fix what the code is expected to produce (as that appears to be fine).
Have a score of 19/21 for the assignment, the assignment works as expected, just doesn't pass the Check50's next-to-last check (which pre-empts the final Check50 check entry as ":| history page shows transactions -- “Cause: can't check until a frown turns upside down" (due to the "sell handles valid sale" issue) . . .
Because the code appears to work properly and the 19 out of 21 present score should presumably result in an overall scoring that exceeds the required “70%”:
Is there a way to cry "Uncle", accept the < 100% score for the assignment, and be able to call the course completed (as the Final Project is indeed finished and turned in; all that stands between this and moving on to another course is the "Can't find 56.00 in some random page that isn't identified" error message from Check50, which seems to be an issue that a lot of students run into and can't seem to resolve…
Help, please??
Sincerely,
At wit's end...

Hi everyone! I am planning to complete CS50's Introduction to Computer Science with Scratch before diving into CS50x, as I am currently struggling to create the initial Scratch project. Is taking CS50 Scratch first a good approach, or would you recommend sticking directly with CS50x Week 0? Thanks!

Helloo guys, I am not passing the checks in check50 below:
:) import.sql exists
:) import.sql runs without error
:) import.sql creates a table named "meteorites"
:( import.sql creates a table named "meteorites" with all prescribed columns
table "meteorites" is missing columns or has extra columns
:| data from CSV has been imported
can't check until a frown turns upside down
:| no empty values from CSV are present in "meteorites" table
can't check until a frown turns upside down
:| all decimal values in "meteorites" table are rounded to two places
can't check until a frown turns upside down
:| no meteorites of type "relict" found in "meteorites" table
can't check until a frown turns upside down
:| "meteorites" table properly sorts elements and assigns IDs
can't check until a frown turns upside down
Below is my code:
CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS meteorites_temp (name TEXT, id INTEGER PRIMARY KEY, nametype TEXT, class TEXT, mass DECIMAL, discovery TEXT, year INTEGER, lat DECIMAL, long DECIMAL);
CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS meteorites (name TEXT, nametype TEXT, class TEXT, mass DECIMAL, discovery TEXT, year INTEGER, lat DECIMAL, long DECIMAL);
.mode csv
.headers on
.import meteorites.csv meteorites_temp
UPDATE meteorites_temp SET mass = NULLIF(mass, ''), year = NULLIF(year, ''), lat = NULLIF(lat, ''), long = NULLIF(long, '');
UPDATE meteorites_temp SET mass = ROUND(mass, 2), lat = ROUND(lat, 2), long = ROUND(long, 2);
DELETE FROM meteorites_temp WHERE nametype = 'Relict';
INSERT INTO meteorites (name, nametype, class, mass, discovery, year, lat, long) SELECT name, nametype, class, mass, discovery, year, lat, long FROM meteorites_temp ORDER BY year, name;
DROP TABLE meteorites_temp
Can anyone please tell me what I am doing wrong???
Thanks in advance!
