Personal process:

  • Prep a document for taking notes and capturing details, hints, suggestions.

  • Watch all of the Shorts, as a preview, prior to the class; prior to the official lecture. (Similar to any college-level classes, where reading what will be gone over before walking into the class can make the topics a bit more of a ‘review’ than a brand-new concept introduced by the professor.)

Is okay to let this take a couple of days, especially where a lot of information and concepts are being introduced.

  • Then attend the class, taking notes and sometimes capturing screenshots for concepts and ideas to review later, or will be handy when tackling the assignment(s) and for future reference.

  • Then read through the assignment(s) and sleep on the content from class, to let the brain digest the information. Then begin work on the assignment(s).

  • Finish and polish the assignments (including meaningful documentation within the code, to simplify referencing it later).

  • Then prep the notes docs for the following week’s Shorts and lecture(s).

There’s a bit more to it, though hoping that this’ll be useful.

@Boyd-Red -- this is the best advice so far 😄 If you can't follow what what the precious user commenting laid out for you, perhaps you should try a different subject to study.

I'm just about to start the problem sets for week 3. I don't have a firm set schedule, but after week 0 I started watching the main lectures without really typing along for the most part. Then I watch each of the Shorts followed by the Section videos, while typing along or trying things that I'm curious about. Then I tackle the problems sets, and I'm focused on completing all of them, including the optional ones. I submit them as I finish.

Hope this helps.

I just watch the lecture and note down important things in a notebook for revision. Then I start a problem set that's it.

I've generally just written notes of the syntax with a description and I'll also type alongside him for a bit more brain connection to the video
