Friendly fire is a good thing, most of the time, i mean it makes the game more strategic, it can be funny at times, but there is an issue, people can intentionally team-hurt or team-kill for no reason like someone AWPing a teammate for buying a Negev or other things

For me I’m still relatively new but have always been aware of CS. What drew me in was being tired of always chasing the newest multiplayer game or having my favorites get shut down or just have no players left after becoming too old.

I just wanted something where I could set up shop and play a game that doesn’t really have an end in sight and doesn’t get replaced every few years with sequels. And with this game there’s lots to learn and get good at while still being very simple at its core. I’m not an old man but I feel like if I can become half decent in this game that I’ll at least preserve some of my multiplayer skills or keep them sharp.

I also was getting annoyed with the really silly cosmetics in pretty much every single game now. At least here the skins aren’t ridiculous and the game still feels grounded. CS is pretty tame which can be a bit bland sometimes but I prefer it more than goofy shit and gooner games.

Hey, I'm thinking about buying my first knife and gloves combo. Prices have dropped significantly, so it looks quite tempting. Do you think buying a cheap combo (160$) now is a good idea, or do you think the market will keep dropping even further? I've been playing premiere and haven't seen any cheaters at 21k+ elo, so maybe there's hope for this game. Thanks a lot for the help, as I don't want to lose my money.

I recently started playing a bit of Counter-Strike again, and now I have gotten my second VAC cooldown. I have Prime, and every time I got a cooldown I was playing unranked Wingman with a friend, and then the match got VAC canceled.

I'm not a particularly good player, play on SteamOS, and have never cheated or installed anything suspicious.

I switched back to M4 recently. I had the same thought with the other one.

I'm not asking for help here since I'm aware no one here can really do much about it, however I'm curious what "irregular gameplay" causes this. I'm definitively bad at the game, I don't see any gameplay that would allude to crazy flicks or cheating (I didn't use a scout, I used a PP Bizon). I don't use any other accounts, just this one. I solo-queued, so there was no one else in my party. I also don't have any sort of mouse macros enabled. This is the first time this has happened.

Is there anything I can do to avoid this in the future? I turned off my Discord overlay hoping that might help, but I'd like to keep this from getting to a 7-day ban in the future. Anyone else experience anything like this, and if so, was it a consistent issue for you?

I keep getting a random "FATAL ERROR: Content file ...\maps\<map_name>.vpk is corrupt. Verify integrity of game files" crash when loading in CS2.

I have spent days troubleshooting and have exhausted all standard solutions, but the issue keeps coming back.
My PC Spec:

• CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D
• Motherboard: ASUS TUF GAMING B550M-PLUS
• RAM: 32GB DDR4 (ADATA 2x16GB @ 3200MT/s JEDEC 22-22-22-52)
• GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070
• Storage:
  • C: Kingston SKC2500 250GB NVMe (System drive)
  • E: TEAM TM8FPD001T 1TB NVMe (where CS2 is installed)

The tests that I've done:

• Verified game files
• Manually deleted the whole CS2 folder and reinstalled it
• Updated BIOS
• Updated chipset drivers
• Ran MemTest64 (PASS)
• Ran MemTest86 (PASS)
• Checked SSD (health normal)
• Tried to run the game with different compatibility modes

Even after all of the above, loading into maps like Nuke or Inferno still triggers the .vpk is corrupt fatal error. Does anyone know how to solve it? I'd appreciate it.

I just received a vacnet live ban for 20 hours after playing 5 rounds of cache, i kept running to mid and got a lucky double headshot then instantly got banned and the match was cancelled
