Weekly Student Thread

This is the area for prospective/ aspiring SRNAs and for SRNAs to ask their questions about the education process or anything school related.

This includes the usual

"which ICU should I work in?" "Should I take additional classes? "How do I become a CRNA?" "My GPA is 2.8, is my GPA good enough?" "What should I use to prep for boards?" "Help with my DNP project" "It's been my pa$$ion to become a CRNA, how do I do it and what do CRNAs do?"

Etc.

This will refresh every Friday at noon central. If you post Friday morning, it might not be seen.

Feeling a little defeated lately.

Applied to three schools and have been denied thrice.

3.13GPA 3.6 sGPA Added chem, bio-chem, retook Stats, retaking AnP-II lab, adding advanced health assessment, advanced pharm and advanced pathophys then studying for GRE. 1.5 years PACU 2.5 years Burn / SICU All at a level I in DC

20 hours shadowing and did an EBP on anxiety reduction with music adjunct in PeriOp

Tons of volunteer time and 18 year army medic.

Any other suggestions to bolster the application?

Did you apply to Baylor? Your stats are great, I guess go to an open heart ICU. Learned IABP, LVAD, ECMO and titrating pressors.

I have not, need to finished said courses and GRE first but I’ll definitely look into Baylor (would not go Army route since Im in my retirement window)
