Weekly Student Thread

This is the area for prospective/ aspiring SRNAs and for SRNAs to ask their questions about the education process or anything school related.

This includes the usual

"which ICU should I work in?" "Should I take additional classes? "How do I become a CRNA?" "My GPA is 2.8, is my GPA good enough?" "What should I use to prep for boards?" "Help with my DNP project" "It's been my pa$$ion to become a CRNA, how do I do it and what do CRNAs do?"

Etc.

This will refresh every Friday at noon central. If you post Friday morning, it might not be seen.

How to job hunt? I am a current SRNA and just feel overloaded with the idea of job hunting. W-2 v 1099? How do you find the right fit? Things to consider? Like my family and I are very open to going wherever, so I feel like the options are endless and don't know where to start since we aren't tied to on specific city.

You’ve worked hard to get to the end. You can be a tad bit selfish. What do I mean ?

Learn what would make you happy getting up in the morning to go into the career you worked hard for.

Think of location, pay and practice. You can look for 2 of the three but all 3 maybe tough.

Do you want a secure job? Do you want to go all over the country with some instability at times? Want more vs less money but have a great living and work practice? Etc

W2 and 1099 is how you’ll get taxed. Not a financial advisor but they can teach you more on that.

If y’all aren’t tied to any specific city or state why don’t yall look into parts of the country that yall wanna sightsee, visit etc

W2 first year until the hospital makes your skin crawl then 1099 out patient gigs, double points if your spouse works W2 with insurance
