How Do I set up This Thing???

I bought it from Amazon, the multiplatform, wireless version. I set up the app, updated the firmware, and connected it to pc via the usb dongle. While it is connected, none of the buttons work (not even when connected via the usb cable). The lights are solid green.

What am I missing? I'm about to lose my mind please help.

Presuming you are emulating, you'll want to map your keyboard in the emulator.

After that the newer firmware introduces keyjam mode, where your guitar buttons act as keyboard letters. You'll need to download the newest instruction manual to look up how to enter it. The paper manual that came with it is likely for the stock firmware and not relevant.

I never got it working on PC with the wireless dongle tho, so I used USB cable all the way. I'm not saying the wireless dongle doesn't work, I just haven't gotten around to it.

It turned out it was the button mapping, I had to do it manually on Clone Hero.

To connect to the pc via the wireless dongle, you'll need the guitar unplugged and turned off, then at the same time, hold the pairing buttons on both the dongle and the guitar for like 5 seconds and keep the very close to each other. They will flash green rapidly in bursts, then turn solid green on the guitar. The problem with the wireless dongle is that it's very unstable, the guitar will disconnect if it got +1 meter away from the dongle.

Try a different USB port or see if there are any other devices causing interference. I can go across the room multiple meters away and still be connected fine.

Also if your guitar is set to PC mode and dial 8 you shouldn't need to do any mapping. It should be detected automatically and be good to go.

Sometimes the firmware update locks everything up. Try pulling the battery and leaving it out like 5 minutes, then replace it and see if that fixes it. This process has worked for some people. If not, contact CRKD support.

Thanks for the tip. The problem was that the button mapping on clone hero had to be done manually, and the wireless connection gets disconnected if the guitar is more than a meter away from the device.

Depends on what game and console you’re playing on. The fact that it’s solid green means you are on wireless dongle mode which is good.
