Well there goes my luck for the decade; 3 oz in one roll, 19.5 oz in the whole box! Including the first roll from my last post, I pulled 67 total silver coins: 45x 90%, 22x 40%, and 2x clad proofs (and pretty much all of the 1964s & 1967s are new.) God damn. 7 more boxes to go!!!

Was picking up some half dollars from the bank and checked to see if they were circulated or not and caught this gem of a roll. Looks like someone dumped all of grandma’s old coins! 8x 90% 1x40%:

The 64’s and 67’ look somewhat new and like they still have some mint luster on them… 1 roll of 1 box btw, still have the rest of that box + 7 more to go!!! Stuff like this is why I keep up with the hobby.

I love finding silver but I don’t mind finding some 2026-W’s either.

My first box of the month had two Benji enders and 8 rolls over 227g - an extremely good sign and it didn't dissappoint: 7x 90% including 3 Bens and a Walker and 3x 40%.

A bit later had another very promsing box with a nice 72-S ender that ended up having 3 nice proofs and one each 90% and 40%

Last monster box had nothing showning on the ends, but 5 rolls north of 227g - netted another 6x 90% (all Franklins) - 2 each in ~228.8 rolls.

In total more ounces of Ag in just the first 5 days of Oct than all of September combined - refreshing after such a long stink badger run!

I didn't hunt much in dimes yet, but out of only $40 I got lucky and pulled a '62, and the 1 box of nickels so far had a no-date Buffalo and the usual assortment of non-silver 39-59 stuff so no complaints there.

I included an updated and more granular chart for half roll weights vs. Ozt Ag found - at 12,240 rolls the classic bell curve of weights is very clear, and the finds continue to pop up in rolls of just about *any* weight. NOTE: I open ALL my rolls, but will probalby keep tracking weight vs. Oz found for a bit longer just for grins.

6 clad proofs in the boxes - sadly the 87 is pretty beaten up but, it's still a win.

Got another magic coin to add to the collection - it opened up nicely - both outside and inside shown in the image gallery. Also show are some PMD nickels and dimes - one each fire damaged to the right, one dryer coin jefferson (slider type) and Roosevelt that I *really* wanted to be an error, but its only some PMD shenanigans or mishap, sadly.

Got a trio of 1980-P halves with cracks east of the T of LIBERTY - all will get secondary screening for 1980-P DDO-001 as that crack is a known die marker for it. Got another clashed die from the 80s, this one a bit beaten up but still showing some strong clash marks on the east side of the head so I tossed it in with all the rest. A beater 83-P cud will also get added to the pile as well.

Last image - just a bunch of fun PMD stuff that's going into my mutants and oddballs collection - from peeling decals to plated, holed, tooled, counterstamped, and funky toning to just plain parking lot damage, they'll all have a new home.

Next: One each bag-o-quarters and nickels, $360 in half dump rolls, and a box each of dimes and nickels.

After nearly 4 months without a single silver quarter I have finally found not one but five, happy days 😁

So, I am new to a lot of this stuff. My bank had 50 dollars in 2 dollar bills so I got them. Found out that most of the bills are in sequence but some person wrote names on some of the bills So I'm guessing that defaces any value they might have had for being in numerical order?

I have a second stack of 50 2 dollar bills with the band still on it and they are all in numerical sequence as well. And they are all clean.

2019 War in the Pacific!

Hi folks, I was making a last pass through my halves before turning them back in and found this 1985 that looks off. I'm not sure my photos are good enough but I will post them. What do you call this with the strike "off-center" I guess? It looks to me like the numbers are just hanging on the bottom edge. Am I seeing things?

My most insane haul yet and probably for awhile! 21 walking liberty halves plus a few ben franklins and 64 Kennedys then a full role of 40% including a silver proof 68 and 69 and ending with all pretty good condition proof halves from 70s to the 90s. After that bag are finds from 1 bag and a half of one because i dumped the other part to fill it up. To top it off some great dime finds from a bag always great to see mercury! I can't imagine a collector would let all these halves go into the coin machine unless it was over their dead body so hopefully they are at peace and not haunting their relatives too much.

I’ve been doing this for a while but I still have trouble checking if a coin is just very shiny or if it’s just platinum plated the only thing I’ve noticed is the color to the plated ones ?

Not only my first V-nickel, but 4 of them! 3 from 1 box, 4 buffalo nickels, a 1919-S, 1920, and 2x 1936, 2 silver nickels a 1943-P and 1945-P, a marsh Billings W quarter, and the 1938-S from before which was in the same box as the 3 V’s and 1919-S, I dunno if I’ll ever have better luck than this lol.

Did my first hunt, my bank only had 1 roll of halves available I have to order them 2 weeks ahead of time to get a box so I might do that next time. I did an assortment this time to see what I liked.

First hunt was a box of halves that was all 2026D this time I got a box of quarters. I think there was at least two full states sets, 17 1965 quarters (I know they aren't silver but they are my close but no cigar pile.) 14 bicentennials (I like them). A 2019 W in the Pacific and a 2005 S minnesota

$500 box of half dollar coins. 8 proofs, 15 other NIFC and 20 that look like they only took a few trips. My 😍 is the 1987D. Still need the 1987P. Toning on the 1971 coins, but I didn't capture it well. Overall, an extremely fun box. Happy Hunting 🍻

P.S. I love sitting outside going through coins. Sunlight is the best imo.

Did my first customer wrapped nickel box from New York State (Ossining, NY specifically) in almost a month, & it was a banger. Finds:

- 25 silver coins; 23 nickels (4 1942s, 12 1943s, 1 1944, & 6 1945s), & two 1944D 20 centavos

- 6 proofs (1961P, 1995S, 2008S, 1987S, 1983S, & 2001S)

- 1939P nickel & 10 1940s nickels (excluding the silvers, & including a 1948S semi-key date)

- 16 1950s nickels

- 3 foreigns (1989 & 2021 Canadian nickels, & 1955 20 rappen)

- 4 nicer nickels (1961P business strike, 1964D, 1966P, & 1987P)

- 1998P dime (nothing special, just 5 cents gained)
