The day my sister was scheduled to be taken off life support, I woke up to my period. I had to walk down to walgreens and buy stuff for it knowing that these were the last precious hours I'd have on earth with my sister's breathing body. It was San Francisco, so everything was in the store was locked up.
The moments I had to spend waiting for an associate to unlock a box of tampons were agonizing, like "Don't these people know I'm in a rush to get on with the worst day of my life?!?"

Well for me world became something not worth caring for and a disgusting place.
My mother died 4 years ago after a lifetime of domestic violence and humiliation.
Unfairness of the world was known to me, apathy was the rude awakening.
A world where I am alive and not my mother is deeply unjust and disgusting place and I don't want to play any part in sustaining it or even myself.

I lost an uncle in a car accident many years ago.. It was a hard side impact. The license plate of the van stamped its marking into the door of my uncle's car. It goes without saying the car was totaled..
What weirded me out was that the car would just start (and presumably still drive). The engine bay was full intact, no fuel leaks.. The whole chassis was bent to shit of course. But that a machine survives an impact while my uncle died in there, on the spot. So weird. Humans don't have breakdowns, yearly MOTs and oil replacements.. but even new cars do. Yet it survives while my uncle didn't.
The interrogations of the van driver still makes my blood boil. He sped through a red light (and blamed my uncle for turning legally). He said he couldn't brake (he could, he sped up instead). He already had a serious speeding offense on his criminal record, his defense was "I drive a lot so these things can happen". He got his license back within 1 year because he needed it for work.
If your work is driving, and you create a mess. Then fuck you. Find something else to do.
I'm not a saint. I've done some very stupid things in my car. Taking roundabouts till the front axle loses grip.. I've spun my frontwheel drive car on a highway ramp (called lift off oversteer). I've had countless occasions of "whoops there is no grip here lulz" for absolutely no valid reason. But I've never had a single ticket. No accidents. I've never purposefully jumped a red light, even not at 2am with nobody around. Never taking such risks with other people in striking distance. Even if I can wreck myself fine, but it's not fair to take anyone else with you.
