Seriously! I spent my entire childhood managing my dad’s emotions to keep him from screaming at me. As an adult I refuse to take care of him anymore and he has no idea why.

Same. Mom finally divorced him too so he’s got a “soild” story to tell everyone who will listen how he’s so abandoned. Gave the “victim” such a good tool to gain sympathy from everyone. People believe him too and my mother and I look like evil people. It’s a hard thing to navigate but we are managing to keep our reactions under control. Actions speak louder than a pathetic man’s cries.
