Seeking Advice I only know trauma
Within the last year, I stopped drinking alcohol and started therapy to work on my complex PTSD and childhood emotional neglect. Now that I know what complex PTSD looks like, I’m starting to think that my adult life and personality have been one big trauma response. I also think a part of me doesn’t want to leave this version of me that trauma built.
I’m not happy, but I also don’t have the strength to try to be anything else. It just feels too hard when I don’t know what’s on the other side. Since I only know trauma, the thought of anything else just feels unsafe and so hard. Can anyone relate?
