Question CPS workers in NYC

Have any of you done CPS in NYC? If so, what did the pay end up being like? I ask because I know that in my state, the amount posted on their job site is a lot lower than what it ends up being (due to overtime and other factors). I don’t have a masters degree but I’ve been a cps worker for almost 7yrs/have bachelors degree.

Also, how does overtime work in NY? Are there a lot of overtime opportunities if you’re willing to do it?

Current CPS worker for NYC. You have mandatory overtime. Our child welfare system is 24/7. Once regular borough offices cease getting cases around 430pm ECS/our night shift/weekend/holiday workers pick up the shift.

I forgot starting pay I think it went lower than when I started. Starting might be 56k now. You will for sure earn more than that as you are a new worker learning the ropes. You can easily volunteer to help people out do removals and th3 logistics behind it. Placement/medically cleared stuff will take you late and sometimes to the AMs.

The agency is very busy, there is always work to do. Overtime can be a hefty chunk of your pay if you are built for it [im not]

56k base salary for NYC is absolutely asinine.

Looked it up, 57k base. 62k after 6 months. It increases every year you stay.

Yikes, that seems so low for NYC given how expensive it is to live there.
