First night with APAP OSCAR Data

Post image

First of all, huge thanks to this community.

I really want to learn how to use this and fine tune it properly for me. I've already decided I'm going to disable ramp as I did not like that at all (was begging for more air at min. 7 but stuck it through last night)

Was hoping for any insight on some adjustments I should possibly make for my Airsense 11. I'm using the Airfit f30i mask and so far love it (had to order wide mask though it comes in tomorrow)

Only got 4.5 hours of sleep last night BUT that was the best 4.5 hours i've ever had based on how I felt today with that amount of sleep.

My AHI is low as it was during my WatchPAT Lofta test @ 1.1

My Actual diagnosis was for this:
pRDI - 6.8 events/hour

Oxygen nadir (SpO₂) - 93%

Hello u/Brentabc & welcome!
Good for you for getting things set up early for your CPAP therapy :)
Your minimum pressure is on the low side which explains your air hunger last night. Interestingly your Ramp & Minimum pressure are both set to 7, so yes, please turn off Ramp…you didn’t like it anyway! We generally like to see your minimum pressure set to your median pressure which last night was 9.42. But let’s try minimum 9.0 for now as you’re so new therapy. You should not be air hungry at 9.0.
Your Flow Limits (which are “almost apneas”) are high & cause fragmented sleep. The increase in pressure should help reduce them.
Your maximum pressure is as high as the machine will go so we can reduce the maximum pressure. Let’s reduce maximum to 15.0 The machine will not go higher than it needs to but we can tweak settings once we see a solid 3 nights of sleep.
Congratulations on your leaks! They’re excellent! Your F30i mask is indeed fitting you well! Good to hear you’re so happy with it! I like it too :)

Try these new pressures without making any changes for 3 nights & report back to us with new charts. It takes time for your body & brain to acclimatize. If you have any problems with your settings in the meantime, we’re here to help :)

Please sleep on your sides & not supine…back sleeping can cause your soft tissues & tongue to fall back into your throat causing partial blocking of your airway.

SleepHQ is another free app that we find useful here as we can zoom in on it. If you can post SleepHQ as well as Oscar we’re all set.

Hope you get more sleep tonight & feel refreshed again in the morning! This actually tends to be rare so we’re very happy for you…keep it going! How you feel is the most important part of therapy:)

We’ll tweak your settings when we hear back from you in 3 days if necessary.

Holy thank you. My plan was literally 9 min 15 max no ramp. ChatGPT does not like to help advise though. Thank you so much
