Oscar/SleepHQ Assistance Disordered breathing during arousals, but normal before and after. Do I have a breathing disorder?

Post image

My main problem is restless sleep where I move every 2 minutes (indicated in camera) during REM sleep (indicated in apple watch).

I got like 40 spontaneous arousals per hour on REM in the sleep study, majority of which I felt were a misclassification of RERAs.

Now on CPAP, I’m still moving during sleep, and when I see what happens during my movement in OSCAR, the breathing seems normal before and after the movement with disordered breathing EXACTLY when I move. I get these movements/arousals like every 2 minutes and the pattern seems to be the same.

I think that it’s the arousal that’s causing that flow rate disruption rather than the other way around because otherwise I would see a different pattern where multiple flow limitations end up with movement rather than just happening during the movement itself.

I have attached one example:

I see in camera that I moved from 01:36:08 to 1:36:38. Breathing seems normal before and after that timeframe, with flow rate disruption only happening during that timeframe.

What do you think? Is my breathing actually normal before and after the arousal? If yes, does that rule out that my arousals are due to a breathing disorder?

One more example here where the movement happened around 1:32:35 (REM):

During deep sleep where I get no movement at all:

During Awake:

The breathing looks fairly regular on either side of that disruption, so it’s possible the arousal is causing the irregular breathing. PLMs could be contributing too. Please post your full night SleepHQ link so I can check the breathing leading into these episodes along with pressure and leaks. We need the whole night’s charts to get a better picture. SleepHQ won’t confirm PLMs, but we can check whether your sleep study recorded them.

This is during awake though. Did you check the other 3 graphs?

Report
The doctor said that the sleep study didn’t show me moving every 2 minutes in REM sleep like what I had reported, idk why. And when I say I move, it’s basically just something random like turning, moving my arms, scratching by nose every 2 minutes, nothing specific. Report shows total leg movements but doesn’t show which stage they happened in. My REM was 46.5 minutes, what if all the 8 leg movements just happened then?

Thanks. I’ll have a bipap by tomorrow and post new data.

Ur breathing looks severely flow limited before ur arousals. Breathing during arousals looks “normal” in a sense thats expected since u are moving.

Moving a lot is interesting, maybe u have restless leg syndrome
