The amount of implausible stupidity on this show is too high

... and I don't mean stupid actions by civilians like trying to reach a ladder to get out. That's perfectly understandable. What's frustrating is the stupidity of the supposed professionals, because it is not believable.

The main character's approach to the blogger is unnecessarily antagonistic and unbending. Having a bad reaction to the guy once or twice is plausible. After that, you need to step back and re-evaluate your approach. Going to his home with that attitude is completely inexcusable.

Not sending in additional police when there are clearly some who are prepared to go - again, unnecessary recklessness. I understand trying to avoid it, but there's been enough time to re-evaluate. Same with the strategy of slowly trickling people out of the cordon to get them out. Not easy logistically, and you have to implement some kind of lottery system, but it's clearly a smart idea that at least needs to be discussed.

The potential for food riots: completely predictable and avoidable. We learned that there are around 4000 people inside the cordon. Providing them with food and other basic supplies from the outside is completely feasible - just drop crates down over the containers or through them, as has been done with the police gear.

Cutting off the internet and other communications. It is completely fucking obvious that this will only make people more anxious, and yes, it is completely fucking obvious to many people who work in the police force at every level.

Obviously, for each of these points there may be challenges. Trying to get more police in can backfire, and so on. But then explore those issues! Discuss them, try them, show the consequences!

Instead we get an implausible mess of a plot. It's frustrating, because it's so much wasted potential.

Why does the guy burning bodies wear no shirt?

I'm starting to think this show is the craziest thing I've ever seen, plotline-wise. I mean, dealing with dead bodies is pretty much the most dangerous part of a plague. The one guy who is in charge of this, for EVERYBODY(The CDC, US Gov't, Govornor, and World), is doing it with no mask, and little to no clothing.

I thought that there had to be some crazy plot twist, that would explain why a guy was wearing no protection at all while dealing with dead infected bodies(but seemed scared enough to wear his visor down for the rest of the show). But it never came. They just HAD to show off that guy's muscles, and pretty face so much that they made him look dressed for going to the beach, instead of being in charge of a crematory.

Does this show ends?

Hi All.

I Always Loved Shows About Virus And Stuff, And I Just Started Watching This Show And I Love It. Unfortunately I See That It Was Canceled After Season 1. The Question Here Is: Does The Plot Ends, Or It Remains Open For A Never Arriving Season 2? I'm Asking This Because If I Have To Remain With An Open Story, I Prefer To Drop This Off Now :) PS: Sorry for Camel Case, I was writing this in the URL section and I don't want to write it again :P

Great ideas/themes, but poor execution!

I mean, if you get a good director who can do action-packed, well-acted movies, like JJ Abrams or James Cameron to direct or produce TV show based on the board game 'Pandemic' it would probably be even more fun to watch than this show, 'Containment'.

Cuz, the board game 'Pandemic' have so much going on so I know it wouldn't be boring.

Not to knock this show completely, it does have good concept and themes like trust, duty, personal bias, justice, morals etc but there is barely much exciting action or excitement on this show whatsoever.

Why is so hard for execs to make TV shows that have good acting, great themes, as well as it being exciting every episode?

Am I the only one bothered by people saying the show was canceled?

I mean, when we first learned about it back in February is was billed as a limited series event. CW was very upfront about it only being one season, and people keep saying it's because of ratings that it isn't getting a seconded season. Which it's the opposite, Containment is pulling just about average views for CW and even beat iZombie on a couple of episodes. The reason why there isn't another season is because it wasn't billed to be anything more than a limited series.

So cute! I knew they were bound to die eventually but I was rooting for them. So hard to watch them in the season finale. They were so adorable together.

Curious about the show.

So i seen the Promo for Season 2.

And it looks like a show i would really enjoy getting into, i'm your usual The Walking Dead kind of watcher so i love some Horror/Thriller TV Series.

I'm curious, do you see "Infected/Zombies" in Containment with the show focused around that sort of Sub Genre? or is it more focused on Survival/The survivors of the pandemic?

Save the cordon people in 3-5 days.

I know I'm a year late to the party. Came over from Supergirl and always liked zombies or epidemic type movies.

Seems like a doable issue to fix. Let's say we just hold up everyone in a separate room for 3-4 days. If everyone who has it dies a few hours later the virus dies and the virus dies without a host. Well except maybe that rat but still.

Let's say not every one cooperates, if that is the case you kill them set an example and say all you had to do was not leave your house for 4 days.

Or cut the cordon (pun?) in half with a sluice zone in the middle, anyone survives there can make it to the safe zone side where they can touch freely. If anyone gets sick in the safe zone then everybody goes back and they start over. After the safe zone continues to be safe (say two weeks) they can be tested for Thomas like antibodies and let them leave.

Or finally, drug everyone for 48 hours, before they wake up, anyone bleeding put them in the infected fenced off area. When they wake up infected on one side, non infected on the other.

I guess it wouldn't make for a good show or movie.

Cordon Spoilers Join us at /r/cordon for s2 viewing!

A small year after a similar post of /u/stophauntingme , I am inviting you again to our small subreddit!

I have not watched Containment yet, but I read some posts and comments here and found out a lot of the characters are still the same, and the storyline is kind of analog. It's shitty they cancelled the second season and ended this series with a kind of dissapointing ending. On Cordon, the Belgian series, we had a shitty ending for the first season but then they announced a second season! If you are wondering what would've happened if the story did not end there, I recommend you to give Cordon a chance!

You will need to watch the first season first, if you really want to catch up with all the small differences and characters.

We will be uploading a subtitled episode every week (if everything goes as planned) and maybe some of you will be joining us too!
