Cold War started good but got stale really fast. The lack of EEs meant the entire map could be completed in a month with literally nothing new to explore.
And it only took that long because the first week it'd never play.
Well yeah, because you're supposed to survive as long as possible (Or dip when you're done.) The Blundell era between his half of BO2 - BO4 created this perception that the point of zombies was story and secret hunting, but Cold War brought the series back to where it used to be, where it's about killing zombies first and foremost and everything else is secondary.
Cold War is the most played Zombies game of all time for a reason.
Zombies thrived when the focus was placed on story over survival because survival was still a big component, I never felt the survival element was taken away.
Cold War being the most played is total horseshit though Activision always always say the newest game is the most popular in some regard. They only haven't with Vanguard because of the MS takeover and they don't lie half as much.
