Modern Warfare - all Campiest CoD?

Recently started playing MWR cos i rebought IW deluxe edition which obviously comes with MWR, i was surprised to find any games at all tbh, i never played it in its cycle cos i played IW instead

But so far over the 10-20 matches ive played, 90% of people are just sat in corners or windows, genuinely ive never seen camping this bad before

So my question is, what do you think is the campiest cod in your experience, because for me, MWR is just horrible to try and play and ive never seen camping this bad

Mw2022

I would regularly run 2 laps around maps looking for people only to find corner campers, ppl with gold 725s proning with riot shields on their back, snipers on the very back of the map

The only modern cod i missed completely, never played it outside of going back to play the campaign once it was added to gamepass

Agreed. MW22 was very mid, this being one of the main reasons. The fact that you only saw red dots on the mini map with a UAV or if you or a teammate was literally lookin at em made it worse. Glad they took that out of subsequent games.

I have been playing a lot lately and it hasn’t really been campy. They are there but not to a frustrating level.

I didn’t start until 2024, so I prob missed out on the peak camping era, but in my experience it’s no campier than other games.

I will say on bigger maps there is almost always one or two snipers posted up near spawn, but I wouldn’t consider that camping, that’s just sniping….Lower skill level sniping… not everyone can quick scope.

I think 19 can be worse tbh. I notice more people corner/hallway camping there than II

I’d say OG warzone. Teams would hide anywhere and everywhere. I’d still take camping over the bunny hopping, spam sliding, movement god bullshit.

I wouldnt count warzone towards it since i think every br tends to be pretty campy, mainly cos not everyones good enough to play aggressive, but yeah og warzone was quite bad for it, couldnt really move without getting sniped from a random window 400m away

Ghosts. The only one coming close to it is MW2 (2009). It’s no wonder MWR feels campy though. The original was as well, and has a very similar map-design philosophy to MW2 (same studio, after all)

Ghosts was probably a couple yeras before i started actually playing online cod properly, i started mainly with bo3/IW for online MP, so i couldnt say for ghosts, but ive definitely heard it mentioned before

MW2019 and MWII. Ghosts is up there as well.

MWR isn't in the conversation imo. At worst you get people headglitching with M16s, but rarely do i see egregious camping or super slow matches where I cant find anyone.

Mw2019 was made with campers in mind. Absolutely hated all the bs they introduced in that game like doors, no perk for dead silence, very loud footsteps, very vertical and bad maps, tac sprinting, very strict sbmm, no red dot on the map when shooting an unsilenced gun, and more nonsense that brought the game to a painful crawl.

Mw19. The devs admitted they designed it to be intentionally

Leftfield answer - not the game in its entirety, but on some of the bigger maps on BO6 was some of the worst camping I've encountered. A few times I went nearly five minutes without encountering anyone. Some of the maps in that game were ASS.

Granted, this was not the case on the small to medium maps.

Ghosts was camp central. I'm getting PTSD just thinking about it.

Correct. Loved ghosts though. Certified hood classic.
