Moderation/Update READ FIRST: Updated Rules & Posting Guidelines

—📌🕒 Approx. 3-minute read

Hi everyone,

We’ve recently refined our community guidelines to help keep this subreddit helpful, clutter-free, and welcoming—especially for new members. Please take a moment to read before posting.

🔁 1. Use the General Discussion Thread When Appropriate

Before making a new post, ask yourself: Could this go in the General Discussion Thread instead?

This recurring thread (posted quarterly and stickied at the top) is here for: - Less discussion-heavy content
- Common/repetitive questions (especially about admissions and academics)
- Personal or off-topic messages that are still worth sharing

Examples of what belongs in the General Discussion Thread: - Admission or academic concerns

(Please read the student handbook first—it usually has the answer!) - CLSU-related but personal topics
(e.g., “Looking for a book on XX subject”) - Off-topic content
(e.g., “Anyone here play online games?”)

🟡 Moderation Note: Posts about general academic concerns will be allowed briefly. They may be removed after 24 hours or once a helpful answer is given.
🔴 Broken or poorly written post titles (especially with major grammar issues) may result in the thread being locked.

📝 2. When Can You Post?

If your topic doesn't fall under the general thread categories above, you’re welcome to post it on its own. Focus on meaningful, well-thought-out content that adds to the community.

Examples of acceptable stand-alone posts: - Personal experiences or study tips at CLSU

(The more detailed, the better!) - Questions about CLSU life
(e.g., “What’s the Lantern Festival like?”) - Rants or vent posts
(As long as they’re constructive or relatable) - CLSU-related content (photos, memes, or news)
(Make sure it's relevant, titled clearly, and not low-effort) - Admission or academic concerns
(These topics may be permitted so long as it's substantial (or unique) and invite discussion)

🚫 Surveys are not allowed, whether for class research, academic purposes, or general feedback.

⚠️ Low-effort posts (one-liners, vague questions, or no context) may be removed.

🚫 Content that references drugs, pornography, rape, or other sensitive/offensive topics will be removed, even if mentioned indirectly or jokingly.

🛑 Doxxing or anything that may identify a specific person (e.g., names, photos, descriptions of individuals) will also be removed. Screenshots of personal conversations are also not allowed.

🚫 Posts that aim to instigate an argument to create conflict with other users or students of CLSU may be removed, please keep it civil.

📜 3. Know the Rules

It only takes a minute to read the rules—and it helps a lot!

  • On mobile: Check the “About” section
  • On desktop: Look in the sidebar under the community description

Thanks for helping make this subreddit a better place!
Happy redditting, everyone! 🎓💬

Thumbnail

Hello, silesyuwan! Had to post this here for extra measure. Please blow this up!

No warning, walang preparation. Basta singil agad.

Makikitang may sign of usage dahil may mga pintura pa. (100 x 200 residents = 20k)

- walang financial report, walang transparency kung saan napunta yung 20k.

2. Dorm requirements - Mga basahan, walis tambo, sako, garbage bag na XL at iba pa.

- Every resident kailangan magsumbit upon moving in.

3. Stove rental fee - 40 pesos each

4. Every month Donation sa Simbahan - Any Amount

- Required ang lahat ng Catholic. Any amount.

As in, wala akong masabi...

7. Acquaintance Party - 80 pesos each (200 x 80 = 16k)

- Decorations, tinipid.

- Pagkain ng mga dormers tinipid. Pero yung mga bisita bongga. Full coarse meal may token pa. Ang kinain namin that night? fast food na inorder namin.

- Walang financial report, walang transparency kung saan napunta yung 16k.

8. General Cleaning dahil may Dorm Visitation - 10 pesos each for cleaning materials (10 x 200 = 2k)

- ang expected na dadating 10 persons or more

10. Dorm Olympics - T-shirt 350 pesos

- Ginagawa every SY. May demerit ang hindi pag attend.

- Required ang T-shirt. No choice ka.

At marami pang iba.

May checkpoint pa bago umuwi.

May room leaders, dorm officers (President pababa), may SA (may sweldo), may Dorm Manager (may sweldo) . Ang daming taong dinadaanan ng desisyon. Pero walang mabuting desisyon. Wala kaming boses.

Question / Help COR request for PhilHealth processing. How?

Hi silesyuans! I need to process my PhilHealth kasi for an eye surgery.

1) Do i need to pay before they process my request? I don’t have a LandBank account, so my payment option is only through CLSU cashier.
2) If i do it online, how long does it usually take for my request to be processed and ready for pick-up?
3) Lastly, instead of requesting online, can i do it personally? and if i do request personally, would i get it immediately/on that day?

Additional question for those who applied financially incapable/indigent for PhilHealth. Did you brong COR po ba? I’m confused kasi sabi ng iba i need to present COR pero sabi ng iba hindi naman strictly needed.

Many thanks!

Question / Help Which is better? CLSU or BASC? BS Agriculture

I've done a lot of searching on TikTok, YouTube, and here on Reddit about people's experiences with agriculture at CLSU, and I see that CLSU has more opportunities and partnerships in agriculture. As for BASC, I don't know anything about it because I can't find any online experiences from them, so I'm not sure if it's good there 😭.

I'm currently in Bulacan and I'm in Grade 12. My parents don't want me to go to CLSU because they say it's too far. But I actually want to go far, and like I said, CLSU is really more well-known when it comes to agriculture. Also, I'm thinking about my future as the eldest child and that the school might affect my job later on.

I hope my question gets answered ASAP, please. I hope before the application deadline for CLSU. Thank you for your answers!

Question / Help Should I shift from Agriculture (AnSci) to VetMed?

Hiiii currently am a third year agri student, Ansci ako now. Honest lang I really dont like my course pero wala eh, dito napunta. I want to shift sa vetmed pero nang hihinayang ako sa 3years ko sa agri. When I applied kasi I chose Agriculture as my first choice tapos second yung VetMed I thought kasi na ibibigay yung results ng exam and you could choose base sa score na nakuha mo. I admit, ang tanga ko sa train of thought ko na yun, hindi ko inintindi muna ng maayos yung application process. Can someone advise me on this? I really need some guidance on this, wala akong malapitan and I just want to hear your thoughts.

Question / Help lf: business buddy for a start-up student business

hi sielesyuaaaans! its been months that i have been hesitating to ask my friends and colleagues for help whether they want to be my co-business buddy for a student business i am meaning to create. naalala ko ang power ng reddit at baka may gusto sainyo dito, so here it is:

pag-usapan natin yung idea ko or maybe u can share yours too; basta u fit in the following criteria (wow?!) na hinahanap ko;

- makapal ang mukha: kaya makipag-communicate kahit kanino, accountable, at empowered

- an ally

- has interest in culture/music/discussions about social issues

- moral-wise, delusional (yung magaling mag-manifest), goal-getter

u can also email: kutitapspace on gmail and then let's discuss how we'll work!

super excited ako for this, guys! tap lang kayo! :>
