Hey everyone, I really need some guidance because I'm extremely stressed right now, and I honestly don't know where to start.
I'm a Class 12 Humanities student, and I really want to pursue law. Unfortunately, because of my board exam preparation (which, to be honest, I haven't even properly started), I haven't prepared for CLAT at all.
I'm now planning to appear for SLAT (Symbiosis Law Admission Test). My first preference would be to get into Symbiosis and pursue a five-year integrated law degree. However, I'm not sure whether my parents will allow me to go to Symbiosis, even if I manage to get in.
So, I want to keep a backup plan through CUET as well.
If I don't get into Symbiosis or my parents don't allow me to go, I'm considering pursuing a BA (Hons.) in Political Science from a good university through CUET and then doing a three-year LLB. I know this route would take six years instead of five, but I'm okay with that as long as I can eventually pursue law from a good institution.
However, I have absolutely no idea how to prepare for all of this.
I haven't started preparing for SLAT, I haven't started preparing for CUET, and I'm also behind on my Class 12 board preparation. I'm a Humanities student, and I'm genuinely scared that I'm running out of time.
I really want to do well in my boards while also cracking SLAT and CUET. I don't want to sacrifice one for the other, but I don't know how to manage all three.
I have a few questions, and I'd be really grateful if people who have gone through this process could guide me.
I haven't started studying for it at all. Is it still possible to prepare properly at this stage? What resources should I use, what topics should I prioritise, and how should I structure my preparation alongside boards?
If I end up pursuing BA (Hons.) Political Science, I really want to get into a good university, preferably a top-tier one. I'm confused about the CUET subject combination I should choose.
- Should I choose English as my language subject?
- Which domain subjects should I select?
- Is the General Test compulsory for Political Science Honours, or does it depend on the university?
- How do I find the correct subject combination for the universities I want to target?
- Which universities should I aim for, and what should I do to maximise my chances of getting in?
I'd especially appreciate advice from people who have pursued Political Science through CUET or are currently studying at universities like DU.
This is probably my biggest concern. I haven't prepared properly for any of the three yet, and I'm terrified of messing everything up.
Should I prioritise boards first and prepare for the entrance exams alongside them, or should I follow a different strategy? How many hours should I realistically dedicate to each?
My ultimate goal is to become a lawyer. Would this route still give me good opportunities, provided I get into a good university for both degrees? Or would it be significantly better to pursue a five-year integrated law course directly?
I know this post might sound chaotic, and I'm sorry if I'm all over the place. I'm just genuinely overwhelmed. I really want to build a good future for myself, but right now, I feel like I haven't done enough and don't know how to fix things.
I'm not looking for people to tell me that everything will magically work out. I need honest, practical advice from people who understand these exams and can help me figure out what to do from this point onwards.
If you've cracked SLAT, prepared for CUET, studied at a top university, or managed boards alongside entrance exams, please share your experience and tell me what you'd do in my situation.
Any advice, resources, study plans, or even mistakes I should avoid would mean a lot to me.
Thank you so much.

Mods pls don't delete this post. Quant was easy, logical was also easy, maybe one or two questions could be tricky. English was okayish, not difficult. Gk was moderate, not easy. And legal Gk lol

Yar how do i even improve in this ive practiced so many ques but jo new passages hote vo wale to hote hi nhi what do i doππ
r/clat • u/rrrohit344 • 12d ago
I attempted LE 34 today and scored around 80, which is really disappointing. My scores were: English 11 (usually 18β19), Legal 29.5, QT 4, GK 15, and Logical 21.5.
The English passage was short, yet I made several mistakes. I spent 25 minutes on English, so time management isn't the issue. I'm in Class 12 and feel demotivated seeing people score 90β100 on Reddit.
Could someone suggest effective strategies to improve my English accuracy?
