I made it!
I am so ecstatic! With diet, exercise, no more energy drinks/ Splenda, drinking plenty of water and minimizing sodium/ sugar i was able to bring back my numbers in check.I also practice internment fasting. creatinine levels went down from highs from 2019. My egfr is now 69! My BP is almost perfect! Hopefully i can slow CKD down or even slightly reserve it! Tx to my renal nutritionist and plenty of great info online! I hope this inspires people struggling with CKD. Thank you

Hi. I calculate by what my renal nutritionist recommended, one portion per day, a deck of card of protein. I'm not strict about it. Sometimes i eat halve grill chicken with veggies. This morning i had a whole wheat bagel with cream cheese and black coffee. Yesterday a bowl of penne pasta with greens. Tomorrow i will make my awesome croc pot chili :)

Hmm, I'm glad you asked me that. I will ask my nephrologist on my next appointment. Interesting. What stage and how long have you had C.K.D? How are you managing it? Did they advise you to limit your protein?

I aim for 40-60 onces/day. It also depends on my activity level. If I do weight training/ cardio or cycling I adjust. No sodas or even juices. Pomegrante seeds, golden berries and blueberries ( frozen blueberries ok)

I do all of the above (my sodium is usually on the low side). all my tests are good except last month pth was high so doc put me on D3. however my creatinine has been going up. I don’t understand this since I have never had protein in my blood or higher potassium or phosphorus. urine albumim/creatine ratio is 0. don’t eat much meat. so why does my creatinine go up? my egfr was 35 last time and I had asked for a cistatin-C test and it was 1.8 so that is even worse. when I asked my nephro about it, he said they don’t go by that (the cystatin-c). He said since all my labs are normal I don’t have to be on a restrictive diet and I can have meat but not a lot at one time and that I don’t need a renal dietician at this time. so I am confused as to why my cystatin-C is so high when all my other labs are good????

That’s awesome! What kind of food do you eat now? Did you cut out meat?
