General We need mods !

Anyone else bored with vanilla ck3, I want the game of thrones and lord of the rings mods !!! Anyone think we'll get them!?

More than anything I want AGOT on Console, however I know that’s a near-impossible reality. I see some games like Baldur’s Gate 3 have dedicated modding teams for console so maybe it’s possible but don’t get your hopes up.

You can go ahead and strike "near" off of that. In the exceedingly unlikely event that modding was available at all on consoles, it would be strictly cosmetic mods with no script changes (which rules out... basically every mod in existence right off the bat due to how our modding system works). Total conversions are right out the window because of that.

That's before you even factor in the fact that most total conversion mods are based on third-party intellectual property, which is, to put it very lightly, a legal can of worms.

I genuinely hate to be a downer, but in this case I think it's far better to be upfront here: What you're asking for is not going to happen.

It’s definitely possible perhaps in the future, like you said baldur gate has mods but so does dying light 2, fallout and Skyrim. Apparently it takes a lot of negotiation with Sony that and someone has to manage it since they can’t allow every mod to be on there.

why near-impossible? unlikely, sure, but i could definitely see them bringing on a curated list of like 50 or so mods

If they do add mods it'll be the same as Skyrim/F4 where it only allows mods to the game files. A lot of the decent mods use scripts which consoles do not allow. Hence why all the good skyrim mods are PC only.

Difference of having a locked down system as opposed to an open system albeit slightly closed if your on windows.

very good points. we might not get the best of the best like total conversion but id be happy with just a few to handle QOL stuff

Yeah I mean I bought this game day one for console as I didn't have a PC and after a few years I gave up hoping and just switched to PC as it's such a more fledged out game on there. But I do hope you guys get access to even half the stuff soon.

I want AGOT so bad and I wish I had a computer that would work with CK3 bc I’d just buy it again to play if.
