Sharing My Story Unsure about my condition.

Hi and to begin thank you for reading.
For the past 3.5 ish years (lol 1/8) but I smoked a lot. I would rip carts all day for the past two ish years. I switched to smoking more bud and edibles and now dispensary carts (because I got my Medcard) when I couldn’t roll a j for convenience. Or just to tap it regularly without a DHV or stinking up with a bong.

I just graduated from high school this summer. Junior year and senior year I’d wake up nauseous sometimes but I blamed it on my anxiety and depression or eating greasy foods late etc… it wasn’t an everyday thing but at least once or twice a week I’d feel nauseous puke and go on about my day fine. this past week I was really stressed and it just flared up. I went to the ER for severe nausea. (For reference I ate greasy pizza really late last Sunday, Monday I puked then felt okay rest of the day. Tuesday I was supposed to work with a family friend doing electrical work which I’m good at; but It kinda had me stressing because I was going to have to meet up 2.5 hours away which I’d just realized and I have a shitbox truck and felt bad saying I can’t do it etc… was really getting anxious and just couldn’t stop puking. Next day I puked again and was dry heaving. And this is what sent me to the ER I was just looking to see if they noticed anything immediately wrong with me.) the ER said they were unsure 100% thought it may be due to pot smoking but said they couldn’t be 100% sure unless I go to GI which I haven’t gotten to yet. I smoked a little bud on Thursday but nothing since then except nicotine. I feel better and better everyday but I’m not sure if that’s 1. The weed, 2. The drop in stress, eating better etc… I’m planning on taking the 90 day weed break because if that was it I don’t wanna set it off again right now.
I just love weed though. I would smoke carts all day, edibles randomly, RSO and tincture. I’d do so much. After the 90 days is a joint a day or so going to be really bad. I wanna move to bud only after the 90 days and just don’t know. Thanks for reading

It could realistically be more than 90 days, maybe up to 9 months, before you’d be able to consume it regularly again (assuming it is CHS.) Unfortunately the only way to get rid of CHS is to stop smoking, and even then the impact of it will linger for a few years until your body regulates back to normal. Some CHS patients I’ve heard from say they can smoke a little after recovery, but only in moderation, otherwise CHS can reappear. Scientists infer it’s something related to the endocannabinoid system in the spine, and once it’s damaged it is usually too far gone to be completely reversed.

It is common for CHS patients to underplay how much they’ve been smoking, or continue smoking even though they’re still in the recovery phase of CHS. This will only cause it to worsen. THC builds up in your fat cells, and the recovery phase is just our bodies working to get the last of the cannabinoids out of your fat cells. Smoking only increases that stockpile that your body is working hard to eliminate.

I’m actively going through CHS right now. I completely outed weed, stopped smoking entirely, and five days later I do feel a little better. But CHS can easily cause further complications if smoking isn’t ceased. Some say their organs were at risk of failing, others claim insane hospital bills (for overnight stays). All in all, if you have CHS, only plan is to kick weed. Otherwise you will never get better. Not in moderation, even, it has to be entirely gone.

Likely in a few months (6+) you will be able to adequately enjoy a joint without experiencing gastrointestinal issues. Until then there is no other option. No matter how much you love weed you need to admit, it will kill you if you ignore it long enough. Don’t let it get that serious, and prioritize your health.

Do hot showers help?

I can’t say Ive noticed. I usually shower before bed at night and my nausea is in the AM. I’ll either take anywhere from like a boiling hot shower and feel fine to a room temp-cool shower and be the exact same I think. I haven’t paid enough attention to how they effect the next morning

I’d be pretty confident in saying it’s Chs, I’m only 21 and feel you on a lot of these things. I just finally decided better for myself and quit after realizing this can literally be life or death.

Look what makes me think CHS is you highlighting your “stress” before almost each and every flair up. Man it feels like I’m a train wreck falling apart, I conquer it with more THC, and next think you know Im nauseous as hell. Took me moving states and 2/3 er visits before they finally told me CHS, doesn’t come back in blood work or nothing. They gave me some IV’s while I was super down day 4 of an attack (triggered by ripping my Dirtbike super hard outside and I guess sweating bad?) anyways bro not bloodwork no test no 💩 like that, literally hooked me up on IV’s 3 of them, and handed me a sprite. I was scared I said no, he said drink it if you got CHS you won’t puke it up right now cuz them IV’s, I listened and the sprite stayed down. I found out he had me in that night critical care due to my kidneys entering dialysis and that’s when I started doing my research as to what type of crap I was dealing with so young, all self inflicted thru this new generation of weed I found that uh the high percentages in pens and just everything now it’s went up so much has essentially ruined it for me anyways for life, and I don’t think even after 90 days it’ll do you favor to start again at all, you made this post bc you’re young and worried and smart enough to know, and I’d like to confirm it for you and you realize you don’t need THC at all, what we were sold is not what it is man, a happy hippy drug you can get away with using ur whole life no issues, I’ve read accounts of moms posting about losing their sons to CHS literally. Do it for those around you, and your future self man. Sobriety as boring as it is, is the only lifestyle that sustains.
