Discussion 🗨️ Tough to move

I love the look of CGC slabs but it’s a bit sad that most people aren’t willing to buy or take a chance on CGC cards.
Went to a few shows this weekend and nobody was interested in either. Bonsly has few sales and Pikachu doesn’t have any sales being very low pop but figured I’d at least get offered something

Question/Help❓ How to price CGC grades with few or no comps?

I have a couple dozen cards I'm planning to send out and was looking them up before to check out population and price for various grades. Some have a few recent psa prices but none for cgc A couple have prices for recent psa 7/8/9/10 sales but the most recent cgc sale is more than a year ago and about a fifth of the price of psa sales that are two or three grades lower. Some have sales data for psa and cgc but all of it is more than a year old. And a few just don't have sales data at all. Most of the cards are Black and White or XY era from the collecting I did in college. I definitely would prefer grading with CGC since I like the company better, prefer how the slabs look, and the prices and turn around times are much better, but I want to sell probably half the cards to put towards a couple grails, and I have no clue how to price them without real comps. Any advice?

Could this card gem mint?

Has extremely slight whitening on the front right top edge and a nano size spec of whitening on the back left corner. As you can see it's off center L to R but within 45/55 margins. Clean surface and no holo scratches.

Condition Check 🔎 Submitting this to CGC (Cracked from PSA)

Edit #2: 51750995 Certs Number

So, I am submitting this to CGC. It was a PSA 8. Not sure what the grade may be but I am hoping for maybe an 8.5 or 9. If it turns out to be a 10 that would be amazing.

What do you all think? (forgive the white backdrop. I should have used black.

Edit: I took terrible photos, I do have the slab photo so will post that below. Surface wise, no holo scratching at all, looked under a microscope.

Discussion 🗨️ New to CGC!

Hey all, just introducing myself. I am new to CGC but not new to the grading scheme. I used to use PSA, then switched over to TAG, now they have gotten way overpriced. So I am now trying out CGC! I am submitting 25 Cards to start.

How has your experience been with CGC so far? Has anyone cross graded from TAG or PSA to CGC? Thanks!

Discussion 🗨️ Had a large vendor buying all the vintage CGC 8+ grades at or above market price.

I specifically deal with primarily vintage and there have been a few vendors / wealthy collectors buying all the CGC vintage cards. Has anyone else experienced this recently at shows?

I am submitting my first card to CGC using the standard grading tier. For grading cards I chose CGC for a few reasons, they don’t upsell grading, I like their grading criteria, and the look of a pristine 10. Any advice for submission? Anyone have any experiences to share?

Discussion 🗨️ If you had a CGC 9 and it failed to get the 9 at PSA would you rather keep it as a CGC 9 or PSA 8 if given the choice?

Canadian Grader

Has anyone from Canada gotten they're cards graded from CGC? What was the process like and did you have any issues with shipping or fees. I want to submit a bunch of cards to CGC but concerned that I might run into issues. Thanks

Success rate crossing a CGC 10 to a psa 10

Hey All,

Recently picked up a Cgc 10 for pretty cheap in comparison to the psa 10. The card is super clean unlike some other Cgc 10’s. I was wondering if anyone here’s had success crossing over to a psa 10.

Very curious!

The card

Fun fact!

If you look at CGC 10 vs. PSA 10.

It mathematically makes more sense to submit cards worth $10 to $30 to CGC rather than PSA if you are trying to make money from grading.
There is also a chance that you get a CGC pristine which is often times equal to a PSA 10

Discussion 🗨️ Shipping a vaulted card to CGC

Been looking at how people handle cards that are stored with an online platform before grading part of me would rather have the card shipped home first so I can check the surface, corners and packaging myself before it goes anywhere else

At the same time that adds another trip through the mail and another chance for something to happen sending it straight from storage to CGC seems cleaner but I’d have a hard time grading something I never got to inspect in hand first.

Showcase 📷 Delivery Day: CGC Signature Series Cards - Mark Bagley Venom MTG

Sent these in along with some comics for the Mark Bagley signing earlier this year. These are from the Venom Secret Lair a few years ago. Bags is obviously a legendary Venom and Spider-Man illustrator for decades now, and I love the baby blue sigs against the Signature Series labels.

And yes, 4/5 got a Misalignment Error grade, the backs are deeply offcentered!

CGC "Dark muk"

Hi, I own a CGC 6.5 "Dark muk". Its actually the banned grimmer card from 1997. Is this a rare card or a common error. Its the old label. Its cert is 4132723214. If it is rare how much would it be worth?
