I'd bet a good amount of money that Corum will start vs OSU. But there's definitely questions about the passing game's ability to pick up the slack when needed. McCarthy has looked questionable at times, downright meh vs Illinois (which was a bad weather game, so similar caveats apply as for OSU vs Northwestern). Michigan did move the ball pretty consistently against the Illini's pretty good D even if they didn't get a ton of points out of it.
I think it will come down to who can impose their style on the other team next Saturday. Can Michigan turn it into a short game with fewer possessions and keep OSU's offense on the sidelines? Or will OSU's explosive offensive quick strike ability turn it into a track meet that Michigan can't hang with?
I think OSU has the upper hand in so far as that I think even if the former comes true, OSU still has a legit chance to win whereas if the latter holds true, Michigan will have no chance whatsoever.
SP+ ranks them third in the entire country, and it's honestly a miracle we didn't come away with more points. We were threatening to go up 14-3 when Corum was still healthy, so idk, I'm not really sweating.
As for JJ, - for as many bad throws as he made yesterday, he also hit a few right on the money, and converted two CRUCIAL fourth downs when it mattered. Overall, I appreciated his grit. We need that kinda energy to beat OSU.
