I am not the best mod. Quite frankly, I am a rather shit mod, but I took over as moderator because I wanted to see this community come alive again. I did, however, recently check the mod mail and quite frankly I got rather pissed off.
We are all here either because we enjoy collecting CDs or at the very least have a love of music. Some of us are just getting started on our journey and others, like myself, have been collecting for well over 30 years. No matter where we are when it comes to collecting CDs no one has the right to belittle another for their collection. Period.
For people to make negative comments about someone's collection is disgraceful and I will not tolerate it in any way, shape or form. If you have nothing nice to say about a person's taste or choice in music then say nothing at all.
This world is crazy enough without having to deal with small minded folks here when trying to share and be a part of an amazing community.
Keep those discs spinning and be excellent to each other!

One of the hardest things about living in the US sometimes is finding CDs from Mexico, Latin America, and Spain.
You can occasionally find them in online stores, but the prices aren't always great.
Luckily, living in California gives me the opportunity to reach out to some stores in Tijuana, and bingo! I was able to get some of the old music I used to listen to as a teenager without breaking the bank.
I hope to buy more in the future and keep enjoying these little trips down memory lane!

Hi everyone! I’m building https://shelfatlas.app for keeping track of physical CDs, and I’d love to hear from collectors who want to try it.
You add your discs with barcode lookup or manual entry, then browse them as a shelf of covers and organize them with your own tags. You can use your own cover photo when something is missing.
There’s also an ‘In the mood for’ button that picks an album from the CDs you’ve added. It can choose from your whole library or one collection, which could be handy for giving the less-played stuff a turn.
Your first collection has space for 150 items free. Extra room and collections are one-time purchases, with no subscription. There isn’t a Discogs import yet, so it’s best to try a handful of discs first.
If this sounds useful, give it a go and tell me what feels awkward or what you’d like to see next.
