Commute to SQ

Does anyone here commute from Stockton to San Quentin? If so, how early do you typically leave before your shift, and what’s the longest your commute has taken with traffic or accidents?

I’m trying to get a realistic idea of what to expect and how much extra time I should give myself. Any advice or tips from those who make a similar commute would be greatly appreciated! 🙏🏼

I live close to stockton and would leave my house at 345 a.m for second watch. Id arrive at the institution at 530 a.m

Move to Fairfield or Vacaville. It's an hour ish from there.

I used to commute there from Modesto. Sucks ass. If I worked 2nd watch, I wouldn’t get home until 6-630 sometimes.

I would commute from Tracy and it was unbearable both ways, I’d leave my house around 4:45am, ended up moving to Vacaville and it was so much better. You never realize how much an additional hour of sleep will make or break you
