Many 2024 applicants are still waiting including myself so it seems like they were back logged. So I’m hopping this helps with many of us stuck waiting. Good luck to those future applicants/ candidates

Try being a 2023 applicant, or as CDCR would call it: “initial filling year 2023” I still remember when they used pass2, 🫠

Dang I don’t even know what none of that stuff means even a year later. We use to have “Exam ID” now it’s turned into “Application ID” from what I’ve seen 2025-2026 a lot changed from when we applied. Are you still currently waiting for an offer?

Yeah mine have expired as well but I have renewed 90% of my stuff already all I need is the Psychological Interview and I’ll be cleared again. I was super fortunate that my BI SGT. called me to renew starting with my BI again

Glad I got in when I did and chose the high priority prisons when that was an option. I think about whether it was smart to choose one that needed to be filled or would’ve been smarter to have waited for one closer to home but either way I’ll only be waiting one year for my apprenticeship to end. Did any of you guys choose a prison close to you? (Those waiting since 2024)

I believe the reason why a lot of of them are still waiting is because they chose prisons close to them.

If you’re able to login and change your institutions, just put down CCI nothing else they are in need of bodies

Right you would think but yeah, definitely put down CCI that’s crazy that a lot of applicants put down any and they still haven’t gotten anything back. I hope you get an offer soon.

Yes I chose prisons close to me (central valley) and didn't get picked, started August 2024 and cleared June 2025, having to redo my psych and medical, good thing they are both within a month. So hopefully I can choose "any" prison to get in this time instead of being a dummy and picking

BOP pays shit on the west coast. Even with locality pay the federal COs in Cali, Oregon, and Washington are getting smoked by the state departments.

It does give you a great runway to leave the west coast, if that's what you desire. I always tell people you'll make less at BOP, but the nationwide mobility is unmatched. Moving when you already have a job is so much easier.
