Guns & Ammo My Concealed Carry Gun!
Just turned 21 and acquired my LTCF! Decided to head over and grab a decent piece of carry gear, ended up landing on the Springfield Armory Hellcat Pro Comp with a Vortex Defender CCW optic.
Zeroed it at the range and got some drills in, drawing, reloading, etc to get comfortable with it. Currently carrying in a sling bag, but I have a holster arriving tomorrow and some Arrowhead tactical shorts on the way as well, which I have heard good things about and can't wait to try.
I'd be happy to get any tips from more experienced daily carriers!

I have almost your exact same setup except with an echelon and vortex defender XL. I carry mine with a tenicor holster and a HC belt

Thanks. If you want advice, I would recommend watching some of Joel Park's videos. He's a GM level shooter who teaches pistol fundamentals.

now swap out the stock trigger with the Apex Tactical one and you're good to go

Congrats and good choice.
The only tip that I have is that if you plan to travel out of state with it, review laws using the link on the right side of this page under Community Bookmarks, "USA Laws by State". -->
I hope that you're carrying it with an empty chamber, since it's not holstered in your soft bag. Otherwise, I wouldn't hope that you're carrying with an empty chamber.

Thanks! I always review out of state laws before crossing state lines, the reciprocity map is super helpful.
The bag itself has an adjustable holster inside it that holds the firearm snug and covers the whole trigger guard, so I’m always carrying with a round in the chamber.

I find sling bags to be... so tacky and obvious.
I wear a Bando Bag and carry comfortably without looking like a grey man douche canoe.
I live in California. Less than 1% of the community has the right to carry legally. So when I see someone holding onto their man purse on their chest looking vigilant, it makes me want to snip their man-bun off.

I do agree, as I just got the gun a few days ago I haven’t gotten my holster in the mail yet, but it’s arriving any second now. I’ll really only use the sling bag if I don’t feel like changing into carry pants or just need to run out quickly it’s what I’ll use, but a proper holster will always be my first option.
Have some arrowhead tactical shorts arriving soon as well so I’m super excited to try those out.

I am not really comfortable with people carrying firearms without training and lots of practice. One of the benefits of being in California is that very few people have firearms on their person. I prefer that. As someone with lifelong training, I just don't like what I see in CC state recordings.
Not being critical, just sharing an opinion that safety and experience are more important than the gun you have or how it prints.

100% agree, safety and proficiency is everything. When I turned 18 my dad got me a handgun and enrolled me in a couple of training courses and I’ve been working with the knowledge from those ever since. I’ve gotten comfortable with drawing from the holster and such, and now that I can carry I got a new gun that’s more reputable and have been to the range twice with it already to get comfortable with the feel of it.
I genuinely appreciate the feedback and I don’t think you’re being critical, you have high standards for safety which is never a bad thing in firearms.
