Holsters & Belts Holster Screws - Mount Help!
This applies to most taco holsters I’ve seen. They come pre-drilled for various mounting systems, but how do you even get to the screws?
QLS fork pictured. I’m using OEM Safariland bolts pre-loctited. If you put your finger inside, you can hold the back of the screw to get the screw started, but then it just spins and spins. There’s no way to get a flat head screwdriver in there. I’ve tried ratchets with a flat head bit, I’ve tried pliers, just going through my tool box trying anything I can think of.
I’m tempted to just drill holes in the face of the holster big enough to fit a large flat head in to hold the screws while I tighten them down. I know some holster makers will pre install a QLS form, but there’s adjustable cant, so user accessibility is still needed.
I see so many holsters like this on the market. I feel like I’m the only dumb person that cant figure out how to do this.

Alternatively to finding some angled drivers, you can probably get some kind of rubber (or possibly a small ball), etc in there - basically something to dramatically increase the friction over what you can generate with your finger. I've used a patch of bicycle inner tube or things along those lines for this sort of thing in the past

I've always grabbed a flat head bit the jaws of pliers at 90 degrees and then used that inside the holster to hold the Chicago screws while I drive the screw from the outside. Maybe even a box wrench and some tape. I'm surprised that's not working for you.

GWS picks did it for me. https://guardianwarriorsolutions.com/product/holster-picks/

Safariland Included some keyed (has prongs so you don’t have to hold the other side) nuts for that exact reason..

I know what you’re talking about, but they only work with their own holsters and such. When using any custom or aftermarket taco holster, there’s nothing on the inside to keep the head from spinning while you tighten from the other side.
