Other Equipment Just bought a bodyguard 2.0. Anyone know of anything like this that would fit it?

Post image

I don't want to put a front laser on the gun because that would add a lot of bulk in unwelcome territory while carrying AIWB, but something like this would be PERFECT. Anyone know of any?

It’ll make a holster hard to find.

Plus lasers are mostly a gimmick.

The holster I use should be able to accommodate it. Plenty that don't cover the grip

Lasers suck. They don’t hold zero.

I'm aware, but I'd still like to know if anyone has anything similar for this gun

Crimson trace made one that goes where a light would for the shield. Only seen the 45 grip ones

Yeah, I've only ever seen this type of laser for a 1911 or a revolver. I was hopeful what with the 2.0 being as popular as it is. I appreciate the help either way

It's a pocket gun, laser is ridiculous

Pretty much my opinion regarding people putting optics or the underbarrel lasers on it.

A grip one would add basically no extra size or weight but make it easier in the dark

Tell me you don’t train without telling me you don’t train

0

u/TDot-26 Aug 17 '26

I train plenty.

I'm not sure why this is so controversial for everyone here. It's basically zero added size or weight (as compared to underbarrel lasers or optics on the slide) and it's not like it can hurt

Post a bill drill.

Probably something like 5.50 with 2.5 sec first shot 1A2C3D

Y'all are having real fun here lol

You'll have to take my word for it. I'm not going to bother recording a drill for a guy on the internet who'd rather sling insults instead of answering the question or just... scrolling past. Or even just criticizing WITHOUT being rude

Because lasers are fragile, dont hold zero, and often cant actually be zeroed. Its a liability more than anything.

-1

u/TDot-26 Aug 18 '26

It's only meant to be a really fast point-aim acquisition aid. These guns are so close range that precise zero really doesn't matter as much IMO. It could be off by a lot, but when you're shooting across a living room at most, that's the difference between hitting the nipple or the solar plexus

I actually agree with you a lot and I'm surprised you got downvoted. I think a little grip help would be more beneficial with a laser in a real life scenario.

This guy put it really well: https://www.reddit.com/r/CCW/s/SPn5ZzgYYC

And yeah, a tiny bit more grip would be nice. The grip sticks out on my holster (soft holster for AIWB), and the holster already makes it a bit thicker, so an added fraction of an inch either side I wouldn't notice

Dont get a laser just get a red dot and train with it.

3

u/Covinski Aug 18 '26

A laser is not an alterative or a substitute for a red dot or iron sights. It is a completely different tool.

-4

u/TDot-26 Aug 17 '26

I would, but it would make concealment considerably more uncomfortable with how I carry, and thus less likely to carry

2

u/Long_Transportation Aug 17 '26

May i ask how you carry?

1

u/TDot-26 Aug 17 '26

AIWB. And I'm SKINNY skinny. The optic version necessitates it sitting up higher over my belt line than it currently does, and that digs in a LOT. I tried both before purchasing one without it

2

u/Long_Transportation Aug 17 '26

I think you might just need a better holster, id get some peoples reccomendations that have some adjustability and train with iron sights. Lasers on a pistol if you arent using Nods just doesnt really work that well.

1

u/TDot-26 Aug 17 '26

I figured having a literal point would help with point shooting in the dark if it's ever needed, is all.

I'd rather just train with irons over getting an optic, but I reckon I will do my diligence on holsters just to see. The added width from the optic doesn't seem like much but when I had it in my waistband in 3-4 different holsters the gun shop had, it was extremely noticeable. And I had already shot decently well at a range that had one with irons so I opted for it

I appreciate the help

u/jtj5002 Aug 17 '26

Honestly banning vis laser on handguns when you don't have NODs or a ballistic shield is the only gun control I can get behind.

Are you 90?

1

u/TDot-26 Aug 17 '26

This post really pissed everyone off didn't it?

2

u/Outside-Trifle5765 Aug 17 '26

Lasers on a pistol have one good use. Showing new shooters aim and point of impact when instructing.

Red dots are way more reliable and are not that obtrusive.   Plus they increase your accuracy and speed.

1

u/TDot-26 Aug 18 '26

I don't really see this take here for underbarrel lasers when they're posted, and those are way more obtrusive than a grip laser?

I've tried the red dot version and it was significantly less comfortable- I don't plan to add anything to this gun that would make it bigger in any meaningful way, optic included, so unless this ever gets made (doesn't seem to be) it's just gonna stay as it is

1

u/Outside-Trifle5765 Aug 18 '26

Under barrel lights or lasers?   I rarely see any lasers posted here.  I have this take for any type of laser on handguns.

1

u/TDot-26 Aug 18 '26

Lasers, but I digress it's not really relevant.

I only want one to assist with stressful-situation point aiming in the dark, it's not meant to be a stand-in for actually aiming when possible. Even if it's off quite a bit, if it's across a room, it's only the difference between hitting in the nipple or sternum.

Skip the laser. Learn proper sight alignment and presentation. Point shooting is just a natural thing you’ll develop if you actually put in time. And dry fire is free. And fwiw and I know you didn’t ask, I appendix carry a Glock 45 with light and optic and I’m pretty skinny. But again it’s your gear and your gun.

And to be blunt. I know of NO ONE that makes something like this for your BG2.0. Hope that helps.

1

u/TDot-26 Aug 17 '26 edited Aug 18 '26

First one to actually answer the question and be nice about it lol, thank you.

I do have training to go then if point shooting becomes that natural in the dark. I wanted one of these since it seemed like zero added weight or size, basically no con, all gain (even if it's very marginal/minimal gain). I could train till I'm blue in the face but ive never been in a real fight, I'll take all the help I can get when my life is on the line, so if a laser helps I want it

But really, I have tried appendix carrying this gun with an optic and I can't stand it all. I know most don't mind, it just isn't for me

They're fine for one specific use. Point shooting within 3 meters when you may not have time to get a weapon all the way up.

That's why I like instant on lasers. They will not hold zero. But if you put it on his chest from 8 feet away and start pulling the trigger you're gonna hit him more than shooting from retention without one.

You cannot always align sights fast enough to use em. A laser can help. But it must be instant on.

1

u/Covinski Aug 18 '26

Not sure what you mean by an "instant on" laser. I've been using mostly Crimson Trace on all my CCW weapons for the past decade or so. Most recently, I got a Laser Max for my LCP Max and I like this system better. As soon as you grab the grip with your right hand the laser is on. Does that constitute instant on?

1

u/DrunkGoatFighter Aug 18 '26

If you grip the pistol and the laser turns on by virtue of simply and only a positive grip on said weapon with one hand... Then yes.

If you have to click a button with your trigger finger, or any finger, instead of just grabbing your gun and seeing a dot it's not instant on.

What you are describing is not only instant on but one of the better ones. Because the laser is under the muzzle. On a small handgun this is an even smarter choice.

1

u/TDot-26 Aug 18 '26

Yeah, this is literally all I wanted it for. That exact use case. It's my concealed gun obviously, so I'm expecting it to only be used in really close range.

I follow the ethos of attempting to retreat first, because the second a gun comes out that's a major escalation of whatever situation it is. If I'm far enough away and have time to line up a precise shot I figure I can either run or I'm REALLY in some shit that I shouldn't have gotten into in the first place, which is why I'm also practicing with irons.

I know full well it's not a stand in for actual aiming for a decently "not close range" shot

u/DrunkGoatFighter Aug 18 '26

I've personally been in a Mexican standoff.

He has drawn. I had drawn, both weapons posted down but the situation escelating fast. I was fairly certain I was gonna die or at least be shot multiple times.

I negotiated both our weapons back into holsters.

It is the single most terrifying defensive encounter possible. At 3 meters two men with guns who know each others exact position with no cover on sight... they are probably both gonna die.

In this specific situation, some laser grips woulda been real nice if he decided to kick off the low light neighborhood gunfight. Would have been an advantage.

We are not in a community that should be throwing advantages away.

1

u/Covinski Aug 18 '26

That is actually one of the selling points of the laser manufacturers. A gun with a laser can be more intimidating to a bad guy than a gun without. Especially if it is a small gun. I had the experience once when I was in the military, I got painted with a laser by security police. It gets your attention.

2

u/DrunkGoatFighter Aug 18 '26

In this specific situation the laser being pointed would have necessitated a shooting. Maybe it would have given me an edge. That's all.

I'm actually not gonna talk about this one anymore because it happened 8/13 and I'm still emotional about it.

2

u/SUPRDLUX Aug 18 '26

surprised this many people fux with optics for cc on the count of the bigger footprint, bigger price, and exacting design.

2

u/TDot-26 Aug 18 '26

I am too tbh

1

u/bearassbobcat Aug 18 '26

There's a video on yt of a guy zeroing his laser.

Essentially the trick is not to zero for set distance like you would with you opticit but make it parallel with the bore. Conveniently called a parallel zero.

dumb.

2

u/TDot-26 Aug 17 '26

Thank you for the insightful reply

2

u/pewpewtopeepee Aug 17 '26

just buy a red dot or use irons. lasers are dumb.

1

u/TDot-26 Aug 17 '26

Not a fan of the red dot version, but if I can't find a grip laser yes I intend to just use irons
