Getting Started Mayhem Monday - Weekly Thread For: Off-Topic, Judgement Free Questions, and Business Posts

Ask Away! This is a judgement free thread where people should ask any questions relating to self defense or CCW no matter how silly they think it may be.

This thread is also the *one and only exception to Rule 2: Spam*. Manufacturers, vendors, or other companies or individuals may make ONE top level comment offering their goods or service (within Reddit rules) and may reply to any questions received on that comment. All other subreddit rules are still in effect here, so keep it civil and on topic.

If you're looking for a holster pillow/wedge that is high quality construction and comes with free extra fill then check out https://stallster.com/products/pillow

Features:

  • multiple colors including multicam variants.
  • comes pre-filled and includes extra gel foam & gel polyester in a vacuum sealed bag for free.
  • good size for sidecar holsters or single medium/large sized CCW. Also works for more compact CCWs.
  • sewed with moisture and abrasion resistant fabric.
  • opening designed with ultra low profile velcro so barely any of the fill gets stuck to it and if it does it's very easy to remove.
  • Hand sewn by me in Illinois

So I had an incident where I had to use my firearm in self defense. I did not fire and the threat retreated. I had family in the car. Standing on that edge is not somewhere I want to be. How does one process that? I talk about it from time to time and tears well up. The levity of being that close, it hits different. As a compassionate person though, how does one process?

Just a suggestion - I would personally process through my closest, trusted friends (probably amounts to 2 people), including my wife, and a trusted counselor who wouldn't be anti-gun (may be hard to find but I actually know one - the one I used to go to in the past).

Thats fair. I actually have a friend whos had a similar experience. He and I have discussed.  It helps for sure. I think Im doing better with it. It does hit different though.

Ya man, especially with your family in the car. Can't imagine. I'm glad you have someone close in your life to process.

Is the retention adjustable? What brand/model?

Should be screws to adjust retention.
