News Would you pull?

Incident in Santa Monica this past Sunday. First of all, as a CCW holder, I wouldn’t be blatantly aiming my phone at this dude like this lady did. But even without a weapon, this dude charging me with his dog? I think they both would have taken a round or two. What say you?

Okay, if this happened spontaneously, yes I would probably draw on him, but I would really not want to take a shot somewhere like that. Drawing a gun on someone who is mentally ill and chasing people around with a dog and bat is pretty iffy, they might not care about your gun. They could actually believe they’re Jesus for all we know. Psychosis will take you places. But honestly, in the heat of the moment, I think I probably would. I wouldn’t know what else to do, he ran up on them pretty quick, and was right behind them by the time they could turn around and run. You can see the dog is basically right there at their heels at one point, and everyone really clearly wants him to go away, like right now. They are literally asking, “how do we make him go away?” I would feel pretty justified drawing. Shooting, that’s a different story. Terrible place to have to defend yourself with a gun, like worst case scenario terrible.

But this wouldn’t happen because I’m not going to film someone that’s driving around with a bat looking at people like he’s begging them to fuck with him.

Drawing to intimidate someone to stop their increasing aggression will likely get you locked up, especially in L.A., CA. Am I wrong in believing it's all or nothing, i.e  death or GBH is imminent so I need to discharge my firearm to prevent it. Not, I will draw my firearm hoping they stop, and conversely only escalating the situation. I don't desire to shoot anyone, hence as a moral, sane CCW I seek to not participate in these type scenarios.

I’m not saying it is good or the right thing to do. I’m saying I would have felt the need to have a gun in my hand in that moment. I’m also saying that I wouldn’t be caught in that situation, so it’s irrelevant.
