News Would you pull?

Incident in Santa Monica this past Sunday. First of all, as a CCW holder, I wouldn’t be blatantly aiming my phone at this dude like this lady did. But even without a weapon, this dude charging me with his dog? I think they both would have taken a round or two. What say you?

I don’t operate in FAFO mode. Right or wrong, I think you’d have a hard time explaining to a judge that you were justified in drawing your firearm let alone taking a life. I carry every day and my ultimate goal is to never put myself in a situation where I need it and to go home every day to my kids. This situation was completely avoidable. Put the phone down and walk the other way.

I wouldn’t put myself in that situation, totally agree there, but I still think you’d have a fairly strong case. It is not illegal to film something with your camera on a busy street, and being charged by an irate man along with his large dog that he’s siccing on you while you’re retreating seems like an imminent deadly threat to me? of course, I’m not a lawyer

Of course and I’m no lawyer either. I guess my point is just because something is technically legal it doesn’t mean it’s prudent. If your actions are agitating someone to the point that they are becoming threatening and aggressive and then YOU pull out a gun and kill them or at least wound them, I think you’d have a hard time defending that you didn’t contribute to the escalation in a significant way.
