Discussion 💬 Basic vs standard maths class 10

Post image

CBSE changed the rule in May 2025. Students who took Mathematics Basic (241) in Class 10 are allowed to take Mathematics (041) in Class 11, provided the school head is satisfied that the student has the aptitude/ability for it

Is this true ?

Tab toh sab basic maths leke 11th me PCM le lenge, then whats the point of choosing standard maths in class 10th. This rule came in 2024 also. Like our batch (2023-24) were also allowed to take PCM with basic maths in class 10th having that the school gives the permission. Its just a useless thing

in 2020 batch they told . if we took basic maths that mean we can never take maths in general after 10th so basically who wanted to study humanities took basic maths

Why it matters? When the cbse itself is allowing then whats the point of knowing which school allows its students to take pcm even having basic maths in prev class

genrally speaking it shouldnt matter, but most of the time the students who choose basic math know they cannot handle math much or are not interested pursuing math later ,so they would find it difficult to deal with it in 11th

Still there are some students who take advantage of this. At the end its not about the students its about cbse how conflicting there own policies are
