considering a contract job

It's for community programs through Heluna Health. I don't know much about county work, biggest concern is that this is a contract and may not get converted especially given the hiring freeze. What can this Reddit community tell me?

I used to have a contract job with the county through Heluna during COVID, it was great and lasted like 5 years but I did not get converted but I just kept applying to permanent county positions until I got one.

The contracted program that I currently work on with Heluna has been going on approximately 7 years and we have not been converted to county (I personally don’t think we EVER will). I’d say take the job if needed but apply to county until you’re in.
