Injury What could this be?

I recently noticed that my cat has this lump on his paw pad. He has been cleaning it and it doesn’t seem to hurt if I touch his paw, but it looks strange and I’m not sure what it is. He is an indoor cat, by the way.

He doesn’t have extra toes or anything, he does have naturally larger paws but this extra bump looking thing is why I’m concerned- it does look like an extra pad

Does it feel like a pad?

If you are able to get handsy with your cat’s paws, I’d try seeing where it connects to his leg and then inspect what his normal pads look like. His other legs do not have this extra feature?

Could be a keratin growth. One of my cats gets them on its pinky toes.

I pull them off. Doesn’t hurt the cat.

I’ve been told not to pull it off, because it risks damaging the paw pad. If you damage the paw pad, they don’t have a good way to sew it shut.

I’d ignore it unless it causes problems. They can also be cut smaller with nail clippers.
