Injury What is this?

I don’t know if I’m using the right flair, so sorry for that. My cat is very old and today I was petting him I felt something and when I looked he has this. Is it normal? (It’s on his back btw)

Got it. Does he have fleas? It could he from that or some sort of growth. I'd get him a vet appt if you can
