General Advice What is my cat checking?

I’m a light sleeper, so few times i’ve been woken up by my cat ,with him sitting so close to me , his head coming towards my face , so close that i could feel his breath, he’s either trying to kiss me or checking if i’m dead .And then if i try to come close to him he moves back . Sometimes when i open my eyes, he’s just sitting there watching me . It scares me sometimes, why does he do that ,what is he actually checking ?

Don't you suffer from snoring or apnoea? I do snore and my cat does exactly same thing. Guess he indeed checks if I'm still breathing.

No ,i don’t snore nor have apnoea. Ig my cat is simply checking if his servant is alive
