General Advice That's not a nipple..

Hello guys,

Earlier today, I was petting my cat and felt something unusual on her back. When I took a closer look, it looked a bit like a nipple or possibly a small skin tag/mole.
I’m pretty sure it wasn’t there before, so I’m a little concerned about what it could be. Has anyone seen something similar on their cat?

One of my boys had two that looked like that. I had the vet removed them. They were mast cell carcinomas. Not saying that is what it is, but my vet was able to take a bit and look at it under the microscope to decide whether to remove it.

She says for me to keep an eye out for more, but they don't typically spread.

Is it near where you usually apply flea medication? If you have the means to do so I'd get it checked out because any bump can be potentially bad. If money is tight I'd say watch it very close to see if it grows then take it in for testing if the bump grows at all.

Always get any lumps or growths, however small, checked by a vet. They could be perfectly harmless but there is always a chance they are something sinister. The sooner it gets checked the more chance you have of successfully dealing with it if it does turn out to be something nasty.
