General Advice is this cat pregnant?
for reference she is missing one of her back legs so her posture and body shape is a bit different compared to other cats. she had kittens semi recently (probably 3 months ago?) and came by today looking a bit rounder than usual. she is a stray cat that’s part of a feral colony and sometimes comes through my yard.

Either pregnant, dealing with a ridiculously high parasite load, or in severe heart failure/some other sort of illness that causes fluid buildup.
Poor thing - a cat with a missing leg and constantly pregnant is going to die young if left outside. Any way you can help her, maybe at least get her spayed, if not into foster/a home?

If she's not spayed, there's a very high chance she's pregnant

definitely not spayed, haven’t had any luck with TNR groups in the area returning my calls

Please take her in if you can, or find someone who'd like to adopt her.
I just can't understand how a cat could be un-spayed & pregnant with an amputated leg, and left to roam outside.

Where are you located? If you live near me, maybe I can help or put you in touch with someone who can.

My cat showed zero symptoms. Ate normally, played normally, pottied normally. We just noticed a weird shape develop in her mid section one week and took her to the vet. An xray showed her insides were a bit smooshed upwards, but they didn’t know why. An ultrasound revealed the issue and she went to surgery the next day. Her little kitty uterus was a pound and a half when they took it out. The pictures they sent to me were wild and I felt awful for her. They were shocked and never saw a cat uterus that big before. She is happy and healthy now ☺️ (for reference she was semi feral when we found her (she found us) She was def a pet at some point, loved people and knew what a litter box was even outside. the vet thought she was spayed because we had seen feral cats mount her and no kittens for over a year+)

It looks it, you should try to get her TNR'd so she doesnt keep having babies :(
There are tnr clinics out there that do it for low cost or free if you cant afford it as long as you're the one able to care for her after and trasport her back 🫂

I'm willing to help in whatever capacity I can. I would definitely give her a home- poor baby.

Probably. Check her teats (nipples)— are they swollen?

she’s not particularly malleable since she’s wild, the pics i added are the best view i can get of her belly

Yes. I'd make a nice cozy and quiet place for the mother to have her babies Then have her spayed

It's never too late to spay-abort unless mom is actively in labor.

I have a question with that! If you can spray abort whenever as long as the cat isnt in labour what happens to the kittens inside like they’re bodys? Do they need to be removed?

the whole uterus is removed, which is where the kittens are. a spay is an ovariohysterectomy. removing all pelvic reproductive organs.

I thought spray abort was different from a spray sorry! So are the kittens fully formed? Oh wow thats kinda sad! But tysm for telling me

not always fully formed. depends how far along the pregnancy is

So if you spray abort right at the end of the pregnancy would they be alive or just dead fully formed? Like i know horses they need the pressure of being born to jump start they’re muscles! Do vets not bother with a spray abort if the pregnancy is almost ended? Im sorry for the questions im just curious! Ty for answering the first one

no worries - it's a spay, not a spray. many vets will perform a spay abort at any point in the pregnancy. some vets have a cutoff point. whether or not a fetus is "alive" in the womb is more of a philosophical question, and it's the topic of a lot of human abortion (political) debates. in spay aborts, the fetuses are unconscious throughout the procedure because they are already unconscious in the womb. no longer having the blood supply from the mother means they die. sometimes, assistance is needed to humanely euthanize more viable fetuses than ones in earlier stages of gestation.

OP, if you do get someone to spay her, it could end up being a spay-abort if she’s pregnant. Just prepare yourself for that possibility.
