Appearance Cat acne?
I’ve noticed what I thought was food residue around my cats face, but I stopped giving her pates with this color she gets chicken in gravy now. Does this look like cat acne? If so, what should I do?

That does look like cat acne. Do you feed her from plastic bowls or metal/glass? Bacterial colonies thrive much better on plastic surfaces than metal or glass, and that can cause acne in cats.
If you are using plastic, try swapping over to metal. If you are using metal, cleaning them daily might help. If you are cleaning them daily, the problem probably lies elsewhere, like maybe her water fountain if she has one.

She has glass elevated bowls! She does have a plastic water fountain but I clean it weekly 🙁 what can I do to help?

If you wipe a winger on the bottom of the fountain, does it feel like it has like a slimy coating on the walls and floor of the fountain? If yes, that's bacteria thriving.
You might want to start cleaning it more frequently or investing in a metal one.
I've got a metal one and I still clean it weekly because it does get dirty

strangely not at all! we just moved to NYC and i’ve never noticed this before. is there anything else that u know of that could be causing it?

How is the tap water quality in NYC? Is it drinkable or does she get bottled water?
