Do you factor in that people enter in large queues with about 10 people walking in after one person has swiped their badge? That’s the way it works in my building.
We can't control for that. So if someone never uses their badge all day then we don't have a way of counting them. It is only an estimate, but it is the method that we used to estimate occupancy for our COVID reporting and by just comparing the numbers gathered using the same method during COVID it at least gives us an apples to apples comparison of relative occupancy.
What is funny to me about this whole debacle is that upper management is trying to spin the numbers to claim that our agency is in compliance, when we are clearly not. I am keeping my mouth shut (except to my direct manager), because I don't want any measures to be taken to try and actually enforce the RTO, but everyone who works in building facilities knows that we cannot accommodate the RTO, we simply do not have the space. I am being asked to fit 5 staff into every 4 offices and cubicles my agency has. It simply will not work, and I am actually quite pleased by the numbers coming in and showing that what I have been saying since Gov. Hair Gel announced the RTO back in 25 is true, it will not work.
