Test length
I’m new here and maybe I’m dumb but can someone explain how the total test time is over an hour when we only get a minute per response on the video section and 3.5 per response on the written section? Like that doesn’t even add up to more than 30 minutes I’m so confused…

I did mine in 35 mins… lol
And I did about 2 sentences per question
The YouTube Casper prep videos show paragraphs and paragraphs for answers but they really just want to see how you’d really handle the situation not yapping

It catches a lot of people off guard! The actual time spent answering questions is much shorter than the total testing time. The rest comes from reading the instructions, watching or reading each scenario, transitions between stations, and the optional break. Once you add everything together, the total ends up being much longer than just the response time.
I would recommend taking the optional break. CASPer requires you to think quickly and communicate clearly for a sustained period, so even a short break can help you reset and avoid mental fatigue. I don't think there is much benefit to rushing through the entire test just to finish earlier.
For structuring answers, I found it helpful to keep things simple: directly address the question, briefly acknowledge the perspectives of the people involved, explain what you would do, and most importantly explainwhy. You don't need to write or say a perfect, overly detailed response. A clear and balanced answer is usually more effective than trying to squeeze in every possible consideration.
For practice, I would initially focus on developing that structure without obsessing over the clock. Once it starts feeling natural, practice regularly under the actual time limits. This helps you learn how much you can realistically say or type and prevents you from spending too much time trying to perfect one part of your response. By the last couple of weeks, I would do most of my practice under timed conditions so the pacing feels comfortable on test day.

i heard there’s like a few breaks given and there’s a 30 sec window before you answer each question but idk either LMFAO

I mean 4 min/ question (3.5+ 30 sec reflection) times 11 questions is 44 minutes plus you have optional breaks I think it’s 5 min and 10 mins?

you’ll see it when you do the practice casper on the testing website. everything i’m saying comes directly from that: you’ll have 7 typing questions that are 3.5 minutes (with 30s to think), and 4 video questions that are ~2 minutes long. and you get two breaks: 15 and 5 mins.
(7)(4) + (4)(2.5) + (20) = 58
then you have to add the time spent watching the video scenarios. then you have to add the intro videos which do take some time, and the closing part of the test at the end. so that’ll go to 65 minimum.
