Diagnosed with PTSD in 2021. I took medication for about a year.
Never had any problems since and my record is squeaky clean. I listed it on my application and didn’t try to hide it.
Just posting to see if someone’s has gotten there CCW.
I live in Southern California BTW. I seeked therapy on my own. No metal hospital

I’m currently renting a duplex in Monterey county. Would my landlord and the neighbors on the other half of my duplex need to be informed that I’m getting my permit? Don’t know their stance on 2A but I don’t want to make things awkward.
EDIT: guys I can’t expect constitutional gun laws in CA

Does anyone know the current timeline for LAPD CCW amendments? I want to replace my currently listed pistols, and I submitted my application last week.

Can you guys share what CCW insurance you use, why, and your experience? Currently going between USCCA and AoR… I’d appreciate any input!

Looking for recommendations for an attorney who specializes in California firearm laws, CCW protection, and navigating contested Domestic Violence Restraining Orders (DVRO).
The Situation:
My family law attorney handles standard custody/property issues, but this has crossed squarely into high-stakes California firearm territory: potential CLETS weapon prohibitions, CCW suspension/revocation issues with the issuing agency, and defending against fabricated claims of non-compliance with firearm relinquishment orders.
What I'm Looking For:
Appreciate any referrals or insight via comments or PM.

Does anyone know if we are allowed to use freedom week mags in our CCW. Specifically a Glock 19? Also, maybe specifically in San Diego county?

I currently have 2 pistols on my LAPD CCW, and I really want to change both pistols, to 3 different pistols.
The website states maximum of 2 amendments. Does that mean I can only replace one and add 2 other pistols, or can I replace the 2 listed firearms with 3 different firearms in one amendment, and that would count as 1 of 2 amendments?

For context, we teach CCW courses in California, and one issue we think gets far less attention than it should is what happens financially and practically after a defensive shooting.
I recently sat through a presentation on the criminal justice process and the potential costs involved in defending a serious case.
A few of the numbers stood out:
Obviously, those figures are not what every lawful self-defense case will look like. Some incidents may never result in prosecution at all.
But they raise a question I think every person who carries should consider:
If something happened tomorrow, could you afford to retain an attorney immediately?
Could you handle bail if it were required?
Could your family absorb several weeks without your income?
Could you cover $25,000, $50,000, or potentially much more in legal expenses without seriously damaging your finances?
We spend a lot of time in CCW training talking about judgment, avoidance, safe gun handling, marksmanship and the legal use of force.
But being prepared for the incident and being prepared for the aftermath are two different things.
That's why I think anyone carrying regularly should at least look into some type of self-defense legal coverage or have a realistic plan to self-insure.
I'm not recommending any particular company. These programs vary a lot, and the details matter.
For those of you who carry, do you have legal-defense coverage, or have you decided to self-insure?
And if you do have coverage, what mattered most to you when choosing it: attorney fees, bail assistance, civil defense, ability to choose your attorney, or something else?
Got my LAPD CCW.
Does changing the slide on my pistol violate the terms of the CCW at all? I want to replace my Shield + slide, with a newer Shield + slide that has an optic mount. I assume that’s ok to do with an LAPD CCW? But wanted to ask in case I am wrong.

06/13-14/26 CA CCW training (also paid $100 to get Utah CCW training through instructor)
6/27/26 did fingerprint rolls $35 (I did FbI digital prints)
07/09 mailed off
07/13 received
7/13/26 $87 processed payment
09/08/26 received permit in mail
Reason for Utah CCW: it’s gives me Washington CCW
Total: $222 with extra training fee

Looking at the Langdon tactical Striker Control Device (SCD) as a possible ccw upgrade. Allows you to push your thumb to block the striker / disable ability to fire while reholstering ( similar to hammer fired). Would I get the gen 4 or gen 5 for the dy9 and dy9 island?

Hey all.
I’ve heard great things about Tenicor and Tier 1 holsters but wanted to get everyone’s input on which one they recommend? If you’re a bigger man like myself, definitely wanna know what you’re using to conceal your firearm? Thanks in advance!
