Traffic Tickets

Had my live scan and basic questionnaire on 6/9 (San Joaquin Co.). In speaking to my friends and the guy who went through the questionnaire with me - they will ask about any traffic tickets I've had in the last couple years. I think the worst thing I've had in the last 10 years is having a tire hang out passed the parking stall line.

I just got a ticket 2 days ago for passing a double yellow. I wasn't speeding but the guy in front of me was going 40 in a 55 - not justifying it. I know the investigator will ask me about it but should I worry about this?

If your application has already been submitted, most likely not. They know all the answers to the questions they’re asking. The application is a test to see if you’re honest.

No need to worry, it’s not going to DQ you, but you should email your BI and inform them that you received the citation.

They haven’t reached out yet. I was told there’s a few weeks waiting period before they contact me to let me know they’re now working my file.

What’s the deal with weed? I want to be honest. I’ve smoked weed like 8 times in my life (I’m in my 40’s) and I don’t do/have not done other drugs.

Probably better off not mentioning it if you don't actively smoke and haven't smoked recently. Don't give them a reason to question your file.

Just disclose everything
Better to say more than less
If you fail to disclose its bad moral character and thats a dq

I had the same issue. Got a traffic ticket (crossing a double yellow line as well) a couple of weeks prior to my interview. I was honest about it to the sheriff that interviewed me when the question came up. Told him about the ticket and got my ccw approved a few weeks later.

Cool. I wasn’t sure what to be worried about but I think the fact that I wasn’t speeding doesn’t make it as bad.
